Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Brock Lesnar Expected for UFC 91?

According to the Pioneer Press:

Former Gophers wrestler Brock Lesnar, who is 2-1 as a mixed martial arts fighter, found out this week that Ultimate Fighting Championship would like him to compete next on a November card, but his opponent and site remain undetermined.

That November card (also known as UFC 91) will reportedly go down on 11/15 in Portland, Oregon, with a bout between Kenny Florian and Joe Stevenson likely to be on the lineup. The most prevalent rumor regarding Lesnar’s opponent is that he’ll be facing Cheick Kongo. In other UFC news…

— Anheuser-Busch has tapped Chuck Liddell and Anderson Silva as spokesmen for Bud Light. Which is kind of strange considering both of them are nearly unintelligible without a translator.

— A lightweight bout between Rich Clementi and Gray Maynard is slated for UFC 90 (October 25th, Chicago). Clementi has won his last six fights, including a submission of Anthony Johnson at UFC 76 and a decision win over Terry Etim at UFC 84. Xtreme Couture’s Gray Maynard increased his record to a perfect 5-0 with his unanimous decision over Frankie Edgar at UFC Fight Night 13 in April.

— Dana White will be appearing on A&E’s Mindfreak next Wednesday at 10 p.m. According to “With the use of a blindfold, a knife and a deck of cards, Criss attempts to teach UFC® President Dana White first-hand how to do a prediction of his own. Can Dana pull off a little magic with the help of the Mindfreak?”

It will be weird seeing Dana on a show where he isn't the biggest D-bag on the screen. It's been close a couple times with Mike Goldberg, but this should be a real contest... who is a bigger waste of time? my money's on Chris Angel.

yea sure brocks a great athlete but watching him is a flashback to 1997 when all the div 1 wrestlers came into the cage and got a lot of takedowns but didn't know wtf to do to g&p, improve position or god forbid go for submission. its painful to watch the lay and pray dana, some day he'll be good but for now isn't there a minor league this guy can play in?

there ya go Fedor speaks on Lesnar....this fight at UFC 91 is probably against Kongo its probably 95% going to be kongo to take on Lesnar next both are coming off a win...Kongo went toe to toe with Herring and there just isn't a lot of guys in the UFC HW division with enough credibility to throw brock into with...i don't see them giving him easy fights so after kongo it would not shock me at all to see him get the next title shot after Mir vs Nog which is kinda stupid this quick but herring and kongo was the first two in line after mir so i guess it works if he beats them both still i think its kinda early

I think Dana uses Brock as a Celebritiy to get more ratings, and halpefully Brock is insane enough to literally break his back to prove to everybody that he is a MMA fighter and not some pussy..Fedor vs. Brock? Brock is definetly a beast but lacks of experience .....but still i would love to see it happen...

Where's the clever comment in italics underneath the picture. Would've thought you potatoheads would've jumped all over it.

I suggest: "Aw shucks Frank, thanks, it is a nice cock sword isn't it?"

I see a problem here. Criss Angel is often draped head to toe in Affliction.

So elite xc is prett much done right? Good, let's get kimbo in with Brock ASAP ok?

True, Dana likes his hype BS, but he needs to be lining up another HW for a title shot. Who else is looking like they might deserve one? Cain is a possible but hasn't had enough time to build a large following.

Seems they've put Brock on a fast track to his title shot, so that by the end of the year Dana can start his whining about having yet another unbeatable living legend who could defeat Fedor, but would never actually fight him.

I hope they actually show the Gray Maynard fight.
kimboisacock- August 20, 2008 at 3:26 pm
of course kimbo accepts any fight. with the ref in his corner like in his last fight there's no way he's gonna lose. even if he gets knocked out i'd expect it to go to kimbo for some lame dumb ass reason.

Onan said it best, regarding Kimbo. You might call him fool hardy, but he's willing to accept all challengers. He was wanting to fight Brett Rogers as soon as he was called out. Whether he'd win is debatable, but the fact is, it's not like Kimbo is trying to stack his own record.
Watching Brock getting thrown to the wolves over and over instead of being raised like Cain or Carwin (or obviously Slice) makes him that much more interesting. He's fighting just to stay "alive" in the UFC, constantly having to prove himself and always being in the middle of controversy. He'll have to prove himself again if he fights Kongo. A lot of people are already saying it's going to be a repeat of the Herring fight, but who knows? That's what makes Lesnar interesting - you never know how his fights are going to go, you just know they're going to by awesome. Hell look at Slice's last fight. The announcers themselves were even saying Thompson was being brought in as a tomato can to feed Kimbo. You watch him and you know it's just an act.
Onan- August 20, 2008 at 2:07 pm
It's interesting to see the difference between the way the UFC is handling Brock and EliteXC is handling Kimbo. UFC is giving Brock credible, challenging competion, while EliteXC is doing everything possible to baby Kimbo. I doubt it's Kimbo's doing because he seems like he wants to fight good guys, but Shaw has placed so much of his org's success on Kimbo that they can't afford to give him the same growing process that the UFC can give Brock.

Watch it all the time, thanks.
I'm only eleven.
mayhem420- August 20, 2008 at 1:34 pm
So you have seen the show then?
Maybe Dana should get this guy to hynotize Fedors managment team?
It couldnt hurt!
shitwhistle- August 20, 2008 at 1:18 pm
wtf? Mindfreak? That is the fucking dumbest show ever and that guy is the biggest douche ever. He and Dana should get along quite well.

By the way, if you're older than 12 and watch Mindfreak, you're an idiot. No, really...
