Before this fight, his MMA fight time was between 3-4 minutes.
He's fighting at home.

Okay... i like most other MMA purists will agree that this was uber impressive by Brock Lesnar.

However, his antics were total and utter disrespect to an opponent. Sure, Herring mightve talked some smack before the match but it was nothing out of the ordinary post fight banter between fighters. MMA is alot of about how all beef stays within the confines of the fight.

I use the examples of the BJ Penn vs Sean Sherk/Jens Pulver scenarios. There was heaps of shit talking and beef in these fights but after the fight was over things were left clean and there was NO respectful celebrations/gestures. That is a large part of what MMA is about.

I personally have respect for his abilities but not as a "fighter". Being a great fighter in the world of MMA is more than just having the skills. You need to have some form of etiquette and respect when dealing with opponents. Personally, i hope his antics don't influence a number of MMA newcomers.

That being said, the guy is a beast. This power and speed combined his wrestling ability makes him a dangerous opponent to just about anyone in the HW division.

Lesnar had lost his first fight for doing precisely what you suggested he do in your opening sentence, you can't blame him for not punching a guy in the back of the head, what with that being against the rules and all.

Not once did Lassnar try to finish. Not once did he posture up and throw down even when he was in FULL MOUNT. All he wanted to do was hold Herring down from a side rear position. Exactly what you expect from a wrestler that couldn't figure a sub out from a sandwich. He did well to avoid anything from Herring who should have seen that telegraphed right in the opening round. It wasn't a great performance by either fighter but at the end of day, even if you lay and pray, you're still in control of your opponent. At least Fitch-GSP made up for that shitfest of 3 rounds.

First an foremost, Lesner's job in the ufc is head a HW PR campaign. Though nobody likes to see the sort of disrespect for opponents that he showed, he is being groomed to be a superstar and(presumably)dominate the division so it should be expected to an extent. The guy is a hell of an athlete and incredibly overpowering thus hard to humble. I think a lot of people don't give Brock the credit he deserves. To say that he's just a big dude that wins by being big is to compare him to tim sylvia. I think he's nothing like tim sylvia. Brock had to work to get where he's at, not just professionally, but physically. Being that size takes a lot of patience and dedication. Tim sylvia is just a dude who was born big, and took it to a sport. On top of this, his wrestling is top notch. He controlled heath the entire fight. While he didn't finish him, he certainly pinned him down and waited for the 3 count (although he might have been waiting for stone cold steve austin to interfere).
