BISMARCK, N.D. — UFC President Dana White said Monday that heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar is recovering from a bacterial infection in his intestinal tract. "He’s in stable condition and should be released soon," UFC President Dana White said.
Asked if Lesnar was in a Bismarck hospital, White said, "I think he is," but did not want to say which hospital because he wanted to protect Lesnar’s privacy.
White said he is encouraging Lesnar to check into the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., for further treatment. He also said he did not know if the 32-year-old South Dakota native will fight again. "It depends on how serious this is," White said…
White said Monday that Lesnar wanted to thank his fans for support. But he said it’s tough to tell how 6-foot-3, 265-pound Lesnar is feeling. "He’s never in good spirits and he’s not in good spirits now," White said.*
With an interim heavyweight title fight becoming increasingly likely, Heavy.com reports that Shane Carwin did not recently undergo knee surgery, and will be available to fight after UFC 108.

He may or may not fight again. I hope he does. He pretty much rekindled ANY interest in the heavyweight division after a long lull. Regardless, Dana White is a promotor and he knows there's no story in "He'll be fine in 3 months and be back." If Lesnar comes back, it'll be much more dramatic if he "defies all the odds" that Dana's throwing out right now. And the big question mark over Lesnar keeps people talking about it and checking in. I suspect Dana's pretty much a shallow, soulless prick as a person, but I give him all his due credit for being good at his job.

Okay, "Brockwatch" is a funny title, but Lesnar's condition is apparently no joke. In any case, I'm very glad to hear that Brock is improving and heading home. I'm now going to light candles and beg Thor and Odin not to let Brock's career end yet. ;)

This is what I think happened and will happened based on my little medical knowledge which I am NOTcertified to give. Brock came down with mononucleiosis; lowering his immune system causing a bacterial infection in his intestines which are normally kept in check; doctors gave him antibiotics which proved ineffective because he developed a large abscess *(like a zit except internally in this case, see mayhem pic). Based on this double whammy, he will not be able to train at least six months losing a substantial amount of strength. (as most people who've had mono will account for) It will probably be a year before he will be able to fight. He may have to take steroids to fight the inflamation, but they prolly will be out of his system before he can train again anyway. It can be career/life threatening depending on the bacteria and the amount of damage on his body. So it is a very scary and serious situation that is not to be taken lightly, my thoughts and prayers are out to Brock Lesnar.
