Burns/Johnson Rematch Set for TUF 8 Finale

Finally, a little goddamned justice around here. MMA Junkie reports that Kevin Burns and Anthony Johnson — whose first fight at July’s “Silva vs. Irvin” event ended in a controversial TKO win for Burns after Johnson dropped in pain due to repeated eye-pokes — will get a do-over at the Ultimate Fighter 8 finale (December 13th, location TBA). Both fighters have agreed to the fight and it should be finalized in the next few days.

Burns was suffering from a hand injury at the time of his first meeting with Johnson, and was unable to strike with a closed fist, which led to his fingers finding their way into Johnson’s eyeball several times. As if the laser surgery and stitches required to fix his detached retina wasn’t agonizing enough, Johnson recently lost an appeal filed with the Nevada State Athletic Commission to have his loss to Burns overturned. So this is really good news. The only question is, will Steve Mazzagatti be reffing the rematch as well? Nah, too risky…

I wonder if Antwain Britt is fighting at the TUF 8 finale. He is a beast in person and it looked like he won his fight pretty easily on the show. Ryan Jimmo is a good fighter, he just beat Rick Roufus this past weekend so that says alot on how good Britt might be. It would be to see him fighting in the UFC.

I was totally on Anthony Johnson's side in this whole eye-poke thing until I saw that picture above. Wow, Anthony, very original Superman tattoo on your shoulder! Never seen that before.

I wonder what his tramp stamp looks like.

If you are going to get a super hero tattoo, at least be original. Like Jeff Monson's Powerpuff Girl tat. Now that is tough!

First off, If a guy has a broken hand and cant punch with a closed fist he shouldnt fight, he is puttinghis opponent at harm. NO one wants to see fights stopped because of a dirty maneuver.

Examples. Scott Smith vs Ruthless Robbie 1, GSP vs BJ penn

I don't wanna start the whole on purpose/accident debate again. So, I'll just say, "Good for Anthony Johnson." The man is obviously a class act. Plus, we haven't heard from Tommy "I'm a farmer, I'm strong" Speer since Johnson beat him.
