Yeah, we know. You only like seeing dudes get knocked out when they’re wearing little gloves. But just give this one a chance and I think you’ll be pleased. 5’10" stick of boxing dynamite David Tua stepped back in the ring for the first time in over two years recently, and after taking a minute or two to find his range against Shane Cameron, he exploded with the same old ferocity to end things just seven seconds into round number two. Don’t ask us to explain why the ref did everything he could think of to save Cameron at the end of the first, only so he could take more punishment as soon as the bell rang for the second. Instead, just sit back and enjoy a different brand of violence for a change. A little variety is good for you.
It’s good to see Tua back. Now if only he could sharpen up his "Wheel of Fortune" skills.

That was great! If only boxing were consistently that exciting it wouldn't be in so much trouble. It's much more common 12 round boxing snooze-fest decisions that leave so many fans looking to MMA for more excitement.

Tua would knock brock out, im not saying he would out wrestle him. But definately has the power to knock him out. Another match that will never happen

Jesus, that was the worst reffing and corner work I've ever seen. Dude got knocked out THREE SEPARATE TIMES. Way to go, corner guys, who gives a shit about your fighter's brain, right?

J-Dog, are you kidding me? Do you paint "JUST BLEED" on your chest when you go to live events? One sided beatings aren't exciting; they're depressing. This goes for boxing and MMA both

Well its not like they werent matched up right. Cameron is a top ten HWT or so the anouncer says and he was the WBO pacific-asian-south-of-the-equater-but-a-little-bit-to-more- to-west-coast-divisional-world-champion. Obviously a champion of that caliber was good to go in that fight. Anywho Tuaman is the shit you guys should look up that guys highlight video on youtube. ITS THE SHIEET.

Dalton, I didn't pick up on anything in J-Dog's post that made him out to be a sociopath who thrives on pain and destruction. I believe that his point is true, but with respect to the general attitude/mindset of the fighter. Tua went out there to stop the fight, and it was obvious he had no intention of letting the fight go to a decision. It is that killer instinct that makes a fight more exciting, not the merciless pummeling of a lesser opponent. Allowing that fight to continue into the second round was disgusting, and everyone involved, corner men, and ref alike should be ashamed of themselves. Shane Cameron could have easily died in that ring, as people have certainly died from sustaining far less trauma to the brain.

Tua is a monster 50-3-1 record isnt something to scoff at. That left hook is something i wouldnt even want to graze my head, i feel bad for cameron. It seemed like after the first one hit he just said fuck it and took em when they came and didnt bother to jab or keep his hands up.

King_KP, I like Tua as much as the next boxing fan, but I don't like matchups like this where a guy just gets pummeled. I know they can't all be defensive battles, but he was a punching bag. Maybe I'm a softie, who knows

King understands where I'm coming from. I also agree that the 2nd round was ill-advised. The fight shoulda been stopped in the 1st round for sure. I don't only like one-sided pummelings... My point is that back when I was actively following boxing in the 90's I was disappointed on way too many occasions by fights that ended in decisions, without so much as a knockdown or a fighter getting rocked in the whole 12+ rounds. The fights were many times long and boring as hell. A fight where neither fighter even gets into trouble can be really boring. Like King said it's more fun to watch a fighter who wants to win by ending a fight rather than by scoring points. Don't get me wrong though I remember some really good boxing wars. It just seems like the rate of snoozers in boxing is a whole lot higher than the percentage of snoozers in MMA. Both sports have good fights and bad ones I just think there are many more good ones in MMA.

At this point in my life, it's really weird watching a fight in which the guy doesn't swarm his opponent after a knockdown.

Hexed79 - I know, it's the same for me. It's why I didn't think twice about him hitting Cameron when he was down.
