The potato has let me down over the last two days... there are stories somewhere but no one is working.

Yeah, I don't care for Votto or baseball myself, but the award he won is a lot more legitimate than some gay fan-voting on the internet by viewers of a sports channel. And I'm sure a ton of people actually logged on every hour to vote for GSP.

In any case, we'll be seeing SHowdown Joe patting himself on the back on his show when he announces GSP beat out Crosby for that "prestigious" award.

Yeh well Joey Votto has the horrible disorder of actually liking/enjoying baseball, so he loses by default.

GSP baby, Woo! Single handedly making French Canadians more appealing here in Western Canada.

You forgot to mention the last episode of Alistair's documentary.

Fuck, not this again. The real Canadian Athlete of the Year award is actually the "Lou Marsh Award", which as been around since 1936. This year's winner was Joey Votto of the Cincinnati Reds.

GSP won a TV station award: The Sportsnet Canadian Athlete of the year. Around since...2007 or something.

Yes, it's great that GSP won but I don't think an internet-fan voting contest (Which by the way, you could vote for once per hour) is anywhere as prestigious as an award that's been around for decades.
