In this video interview with Fighters Only, Chuck Liddell shoots down rumors that he may face Anderson Silva in February or Randy Couture in June, saying that a potential fourth fight with Couture, “doesn’t make sense.” He seems to have his sights set on a fight some time in March or April. The opponent sounds less important to him than the date, but then that story could change once he sits down with Dana White and looks at his options.
Liddell also makes the case for continuing his career after the knockout loss to Rashad Evans, pointing out that he was winning the fight (technically true, since not much had happened) before getting caught with Evans’ brutal right hand.
Fair enough, but he has to realize that the situation will only become more desperate if he can’t notch a win in this mystery bout in the spring. As long as he’s turning down interesting possible fights for himself, he might as well throw out a name or two of someone he would like to fight. And don’t say James Irvin. Just please, don’t.

commentsYou think James Irvin can knock Chuck out?????????? Sounds like you're the idiot.
Wells said guys! I agree with both of you.
I also think that Chuck is a warrior, and deserves respect whether he wins or loses his next fight. Retirement should be a decision he should make when he's ready, not one he is forced into by a bunch of people that have never even stepped into a ring of any kind. Good luck Chuck.

Winner of Rampage Silva
all interesting fights. 205 is stacked and he can beat or hang with anybody in there. The bottom line is he has to string some wins together and with such a high profile name as he has and the stiff competition in that weight class thats easier said then done.
Also, anytime Chuck fights it seems a title shot is within reach. Dana doesn't know how to quit him.
If he were to beat the Franklin/Hendo winner and then somebody like Machida or a rematch with Jardine, Silva, or Rashad, I think at that point we could all agree a title shot would be warranted.
With the winner of that fight getting a title #1 contender shot.
Maybe something like this:
Rampage vs Wandy - winner gets a shot at .....
Current LHW champ (Forrest or Rashad)
Franklin vs Hendo - winner gets a shot at......
Chuck... winner of that gets the next shot at who ever is the current LHW champ.
