I think El_loco has the right of this situation. It could be 1 of two things.. Marginally good for MMA, or HORRRIBLY, TERRIBLY, UNBELIEVABLY bad for MMA. Not to mention if RJJ knocks the shit out of Silva, then Silva can't defend his title, and the UFC loses money.

Bundy, you may have been totally 100% correct on this about 5 or 6 years ago. It's been a while since RJJ has really been in a match against a good opponent, he may be a little rusty. But you're correct, RJJ can throw punches faster with 12 oz. gloves than Spider can with 4 oz. gloves. On top of that, he can throw them with knockout power in every shot. And although he's gotten a little older, I have no doubt in my mind that he could get back in fighting condition in no time. He does have the athleticism. And he does have the skill.
