That Crazy Todd Beard Is At It Again

(‘And to think, my parole officer said I’d never amount to anything.’)

Affliction co-founder Todd Beard has added another restraining order to his impressive resume. MMA Payout reports that the convicted felon/pregnant woman-puncher/elderly person-swindler Beard got into it with the CEO of Silver Star Casting, Luke Burrett, who then went out and got the restraining order (which can be viewed here) to stop Beard’s “harassment.”

If you’re not familiar with Silver Star, they make clothes that are very similar in douchieness to Affliction’s, only slightly more ‘consumer-friendly punk rock meets mall food court’ and less ‘appropriated symbols from other cultures meets skulls and shit,’ which is Affliction’s domain.  Silver Star also sponsors several MMA fighters (check out their comparatively cheap Rashad Evans t-shirt, for instance), and used to work together with Affliction until the companies had a dispute that led to Silver Star trying to make nice with the UFC.

Things supposedly got worse after UFC 94, which featured the man sponsored by both Affliction and Silver Star, Georges St. Pierre, who had previously been given permission by Affliction to wear Silver Star into the Octagon.  Preliminary reports indicate that no one outside the two companies noticed or gave a damn.  But leave it to Todd Beard to make an issue of it.

That guy seems to know only one solution to every problem, and it involves threatening someone.  Should we be surprised that this is the kind of mind partly responsible for spawning Affliction?  We should not.  But hey, wait a minute, didn’t Beard supposedly resign from Affliction?  Maybe it’s just a coincidence that he’s now harassing the CEO of a company Affliction’s been having problems with lately.  Could be that was part of his normal, every day harassin’, and didn’t have anything to do with his business harassin’.  You gotta keep those separate, you know.

Whether business or leisure, I like all my harrassin’ to be of the sexual persuasion.

Also, ha ha @ Lysol.

Lysol- February 9, 2009 at 12:37 pm

After I got done installing my personalized “Dr Lysol” liscense plate onto my 2009 Hummer, I changed into my brand new Diesel jeans and $800 D&G sunglasses so I could take pictures of my fucking perfect abs to use for my Myspace photo before reading this article and thinking “Why does everyone think Affliction is for douchebags?”. For real, their shirts is pimpin’, broski.

Who buys these shitty shirts?

Clearly you are a troll or a non-American. All those trashy morons in America buy that shit. Trust me, MMA t-shirt selling is a big business in the USA. Just like their iPod phenomenon and shit. Americans are clueless little consumer shits that will buy everything and anything and shit.

Surfin Dave- February 9, 2009 at 12:08 pm

Maybe Todd was just mad because he bought one of the Rashad Evans shirts, and then found out that wasn’t Rashad’s picture on the shirt. Apparently it’s some guy named Ben…

Eric- February 9, 2009 at 11:22 am

MMA is the wrong business to threaten people in. Eventually this guy is going to get his taint kicked in by some fighter who doesn’t appreciate his comments (or goatee)

Brad- February 9, 2009 at 11:22 am

I actually assumed that GSP was no longer sponsored by Affliction. Now I assume they are probably owned by the same people.

Dana White is a HOMO- February 9, 2009 at 10:47 am

Todd is a joke. I still wish “Sugar-free” would have cleaned his clock! I would have paid money to see him threaten Kim. Then watch her come back and knock his bitch ass the F out!

I think next on Todd’s list will be stealing lunch money from the local Jr. High kids!

Todd is a LOSER!!! And a Sissy!!!

@ CanProduce

because tattoos hurt less than the beating one deserves for wearing an affliction shirt.

TUF Guy- February 9, 2009 at 10:30 am

Damnit, CanProduce I am going to bash your skull in for taking away my glory.

TUF Guy- February 9, 2009 at 10:29 am

Santiago- February 9, 2009 at 10:28 am

CanProduce- February 9, 2009 at 10:28 am

Why get tattoos when you can just wear an Affliction shirt?
