DW is full of shit saying he "needed him to fight Cain." He won't have had Cro-cop fighting Cain coming off of a row of loses.

Also, "honor" seems like a one-way street in the fight business. Fighters are always getting screwed on the business end. I just don't see DW as a victim here...he needed Cro-cop to help draw a crowd in Europe and that got done.

I agree with Junk Puncher 100%. In addition, DW knew he needed to bring in a popular Euro fighter to help the ticket sales in Germany. Cro-Cop was the man for the job - regardless of his shitty performance.

Either way, whoever is in the wrong, CroCop wasnt impressive out there. I agree with the people who say it was to bring in european fans and whatnot. But I do believe Dana got fucked over.

I am not going to debate conspiracy theories with you on an MMA website. I do not believe that Dana knew Cro Cop was going to leave if he did know why in the hell is he making such a big deal out of it? He gave Royce Gracie a one fight deal and never accused Royce of backing out of some other made up deal. It makes no sense for Dana to lie about this or for Cro Cop to go along with it. Cro Cop lost a lot of fans by saying he wanted to fight the best the UFC has to offer and then going to Japan to fight cans. Personally I dont care about Cro Cop he will never again be able to hang with the UFC's best, hell I dont think he could handle Kongo again let alone Lesnar. You just go ahead and keep hating on Dana White I am sure it makes you popular with the rest of the Japan MMA fanboys.

Im excited to see Wanderlei Silva (dont say wandy, you look and sound like a retard) take a couple at 185. He's pretty much done with fighting, at least at the UFC caliber but he's still got ferocity left in those hands and feet of his. He's a legend, I was pulling for him every second. He's still the toughest scariest guy in my eyes.

As for Rich, well homey is gonna get trapped in the 205 division with no were to go, offers no threat to Machida and there's a hand full of other dudes that will crush his path to title contention

If you saw the pre fight lead up, Cro cop could barely say 'HW title run' with a straight face. This aint Pride. The rules, the octagon, and the super sized wrestlers who can hit all guaranteed that Mirko was in for another bumpy ride in the UFC.

How exactly has Dana fucked over soooo many people? Have YOU ever negotiated a contract with him? Neither have I. You really don't know what goes on when they negotiate contracts or let someone go. Some of you just assume the worst because you find Dana abrasive. Someone being annoying doesn't make them dishonest. You think Coker hasn't dropped contracts in Strikeforce? You think there aren't any fighters who feel screwed over by him? He's a nice guy, but it's impossible to make everyone happy. He's just had fewer complaints because he runs a smaller company.

Yeah, some fighters get dropped. That happens all the time IN EVERY ORGANIZATION. Do you like seeing guys get the shit kicked out of them because they can't hang at the upper levels? Some fighters need to drop back down in competition or they'll get killed. Some of these guys just aren't good enough, but they do better by fighting lesser competition and looking like a badass (about half of Strikeforce, non-heavyweights in Affliction, most of the non-asians in Dream, etc). Wouldn't you rather see them fighting guys who they are equal to rather than getting their faces smashed in over and over?

You're also assuming (like idiots often do) that everyone who leaves the UFC leaves on bad terms. MOST fighters leave the UFC with the intention to come back at some point if they can get a few more wins under their belt. Only a few have any kind of bad blood. Cro Cop and Tito probly won't be back (probably), but think of all the other fighers who have been in the UFC and come back. The list is endless.

Even if Dana kept every fighter contract till the end of time (and UFC fights all sucked because of the dead weight - which is what you all want), how would that justify Cro Cop lying through his teeth about wanting to run for the title in the UFC knowing he was only going for one fight? Yeah, the UFC got a little attention and Cro Cop got his tune up fight, so it's not the worst thing ever, but that's pretty much the last straw for me with Cro Cop. He can go on to take a bunch of easy freakshow fights in Japan. Obviously, Cro Cop knows that's all he's capable of or he would have signed with Affliction for millions and a shot at Barnett and Fedor (you know they would take him in a heartbeat).

Good for Mirko, he's doing what he wants, DW is pissed because he got the treatment that he usually gives his fighters. I mean, with the whole Chuck Liddell thing of not releasing him from his contract but not giving him any more fights, therefore, forcing him into retirement would most likely have been the outcome after the Al-Turk fight if Cro Cop had lost.

I didn't think much of that fight, Cro Cop couldn't have looked more disinterested, he stuffed any take down attempts like they were nothing but didnt seem too energetic in his attack. Then, the fight ends with an eye poke and no referee involvement, unsatisfying fight but legendary "fuck you" to DW, which is always nice.

Prior to the event, DW himself said he offered Cro Cop a one-off fight. Now post-fight it's three? I don't know what the real deal is, but it doesn't matter to me either, save the fact I'll see one less good striker in the UFC.

Sure, jiu jitsu's a big part of any good fighter's mma game nowadays, but after a bunch of fights last night, is it too much to hope for one damn good KO on a card?

Velasquez won his match, and yes he controlled the fight, but Kongo impressed me more than Cain did. Cain couldn't finish or submit Kongo, and he had tons of chances. Kongo took a relative beating and didn't give up. Anytime Kongo got distance from Cain he fared well. His corner should've had him more prepared at sidestepping and countering the clutch and grab. IMO, Velasquez's stock went down in that fight.

Uno should've got the decision, and Hardy's was a fair call.

Cro Cop clearly poked him in the eye, but if anyone's to blame, it should've been the referee for inaction. The ref should've given Al-Turk the time and space to compose himself and let the fight continue. Cro Cop would make more money overseas, and I'd do the same thing if I were him. DW shouid've offered a three fight deal, and not a one fight/more if you win type deal, things may have turned out different. DW used Cro Cop to sell tickets for one event, Cro Cop is looking out for his future. I get both individuals were used in their own respects. It's over.

Dana's a businesman, and Cro Cop's a fighter, each thinks differently. There's been no response from Cro Cop or his camp, so we only have DW's side of things for the moment. It's a little soon and I think wrong to be hating on Cro Cop.

I had to tolerate BJ jumping a weight class to fight GSP, all while screwing Florian and the other lightweights. Wanderlei can lose fight after fight and not get cut, while other fighters perform poorly in a couple fights and he cuts them for "seasoning". I haven't heard of fighter's getting cuts or percentages of the UFC game for using their likeneses, yet Fitch gets cut for looking out for himself. Sure, he was brought back, but I've no doubt there were ulterior motives by DW for that too. I don't know both sides to the story, but I know DW"s not squeaky clean too. Good businesmen have to be unscrupulous at times, but they shouldn't expect pity and compassion the second they are the ones on the short end of the stick.

Great Thinking Cro Cop! Burn your bridges with Zuffa. The UFC is here to stay, Dream, Affliction and Strikeforce could all be gone next week. Its not like the UFC needs Cro Cop anyways, he will eventually need the UFC.

It was an uninteresting match with no relevance in standings or title contention, so eh... who cares. I know the UFC makes a lot of money, but regardless... why keep throwing huge paydays at aging fighters who're putting together strings of losses? Names put asses in seats and the dollar is the bottom line, but I'd rather watch two hungry and unknown fighters in a great match than have to hear about the politics of working with these older guys. That's what the money does, though. Makes them comfortable and demanding. Good luck, Cro cop. I wasn't going to watch anyway.

Dude, all you have to do is look at your typical UFC contract to see how badly the guys get fucked. They get signed to fight however many fights, but should they not perform to whatever standard Dana wants, they get dropped like a fly.

I mean really, look at this whole image thing. Where they have the fighters sign away their image to the UFC to use exclusively and indefinitely. Literally selling your soul to the devil, how else do you think guys like Tim Sylvia, Tito Ortiz + Andre Arlovski ended up in UFC Undisputed 2009.

Look at guys like Anderson Silva or Frank Mir, your average UFC Champion, and compare their salary with someone like Manny Pacquiao or Wladimir Klitschko, guys who can literally earn millions per fight.

The UFC is a joke (yet successful) as a organisation, they are unloyal to their fighters who put it all on the line for them, and yet pudgey Dana White has the balls to talk about "having what it takes to be a fighter" He wouldn't know what it takes to be a fighter if it literally hit him in the face, ever since his boxing days, he has always been a promoter or manager and never inside the ring/cage.
