Following yesterday’s UFC 104 press conference, AllElbows.com‘s E. Casey Leydon got up in Dana White‘s face, and the conversation inevitably turned to Kimbo Slice. Despite multiple reports from TUF 10 castmembers that Kimbo had a large "posse" in attendance for his fight — yes, that’s the word they keep using — Dana claims that only Slice’s manager was there, while his wife and kids were definitely not. "I’ve never seen such crybabies in my whole life as the heavyweights [on TUF 10]," Dana says. Here’s another example: Roy Nelson told USA Today that Kimbo had his own media room and could make phone calls. Dana’s response:
After the jump: A longer DW interview with Ariel Helwani, where Dana discusses Cain Velasquez‘s potential as a future champ, selling two Brazilian main-eventers, the necessity of teammates fighting each other, an update on the Dan Henderson situation, those Showtime knuckleheads, Bernard Hopkins’s criticism of MMA as gay porno, why "Big" John McCarthy isn’t reffing at UFC 104, and Chuck Liddell‘s future in the sport.

Something tells me Roy may not make the finals... if he did then I would think DW would talk a little more highly about him!

"And you'll actually see later on as the show progresses, there's a situation that happens where I have to get on the phone, and then I put him on the phone." Dana had to order a pizza to be delivered to Kimbo's personal media room, and he forgot if Kimbo liked anchovies or not.

Either that or Dana's pissed he might get stuck with him and have to pay that conceited fat fuck the $100,001.

Kimbo got one of his gold teeth knocked out and DW had to get the Miami dentist on the horn.

I don't really care for Roy honestly...but the idea of him making stuff up and blatantly lying to the press is a lil weird. Until you take into account that he must not win and doesn't have anything to lose. Oh wait, yes he does...plenty of the guys from previous TUF seasons have been given 1 or 2 fight contracts to see if they are worth it. My guess is, Roy wont be getting one of these. But seriously, if he did have a media room...who cares!? Dude lost. Even if it is a special circumstance of privilege, it just goes to show why they DON'T do that stuff. Because it's a distraction and keeps you from the task at hand...like not throwing off balance knees at your top heavy opponent.

Obviously Kimbo had his own media room, but it was really just a room where he had to check up with his Parole Officer daily. Note: Does this mean we won't be seeing Roy in the UFC unless he wins the whole thing?

"Roy Nelson is an idiot, he is a complete jackass" I love that. There ya go Roy big CUNTry Nelson fans...suck on that!

Dana just needed Kimbo to translate some ghetto talk for him.

Dana is the least reliable source you could ever find after President Obama. Dana is lying about the entourage thing, I was talking to Kimbo himself about it a few days ago when I saw the article about that Wessel guy or whatever bitching. I didn't ask about the phone, but I have no doubt Dana is full of shit like always. It is just a bit ironic that Dana can try to call anyone stupid. He is not the brightest himself, and at least Big Country has some integrity and charisma. Dana is just a bald guy that get's defensive and make's shit up about people to make them look bad, and himself look good. How fucking petty are you Dana, didn't you learn anything when you were growing up? I hope Dana doesn't have too many kids, he is the worst role model, lol u see how he ended up, his parents were probably the same way.

To me its funny how aggressively defensive Dana becomes, obviously Kimbo received special treatment that much is obvious just from watching the show, but to what extent & how much we don't know ... yet. Is it just me or is this TUF season a bit of an eye opener towards how the UFC operates & what it's Prez'e'dentay is really like?

"What has Showtime ever done great?" Well off the top of my head, Six Feet Under, Dexter, Californication, Weeds, and Rome. Dana is fun to watch, but the bullshit train continues...
Fri, 10/23/09 - 09:16
Six Feet Under is/was HBO.
Fri, 10/23/09 - 09:47
That guy's name is Ariel? Really?
Fri, 10/23/09 - 09:56
Something tells me Roy Nelson is gonna get the Travis Lutter treatment after TUF.
Fri, 10/23/09 - 10:03
I agree with Dana, except for one thing......Dexter is fucking awesome and it's on showtime. However, what's that, like one in 500 shows they've done? Helwani always seems so likable. I wonder if that's how he really is. CP posts his interviews most of the time. I'm curious to see whether or not Dan Henderson goes with Strikeforce because he might get to fight Gegard for the title.

Dana White is a mental midget.

@Bringbackbabalu- You are a fucking moron also. I bet your faggot ass bet for George Bush you southern inbred retard. You are obviously extremely jealous of Dana too. And all you fools that are crying about this seasons TUF, and the fact that every episode revolves pretty much around Kimbo, get over it losers. Its dumb, but this is television. Enough said. If you dont like it, dont watch it.
Fri, 10/23/09 - 10:11
@Nate Well Lutter was/is a douche bag and he blew it. Roy Nelson somehow in his mind is convinced he's a pro, but I'm still not so sure he could last a round with anyone like Gonzaga, Carwin, Lesnar, or even Couture. If Roy Nelson went into the UFC, he would be a bigger target than Kimbo, man. Everyone wants his fat ass to get kicked....except for hillbillies, who have Roy Nelson statues and rub it's huge belly for good luck.
Fri, 10/23/09 - 11:25
Y'all need to leave my 'Good luck Roy' statue out of this!
Fri, 10/23/09 - 01:16
Helwani is the best mma interviewer imo. Dig the Fight Nerd as well, but that's a side point. At the end of the interview, Helwani asks about seeing Kimbo in the UFC in '10 and Dana says anything can happen. I was under the impression that regardless of his performance on the show, he was getting at least a 1 fight contract. Now recently I've heard that it's IF he wins the show, he gets a bigger contract than the normal TUF one. Which is right? Or is it both?
