Dana White Lays Down the F*ckin’ Law

Dana White UFC MMA Charlie clown
(The #1 clown in Las Vegas poses with some guy named Charlie. Props: via MMA Splatter.)

“How do I feel about them trying to counter-program UFC 100? I love it. I fucking love it. I love it. I don’t like these guys and I want to see them spend more of their t-shirt money. What they should be worrying about is — they’ve already seen first hand that nobody gives a shit about Affliction MMA — what they need to start worrying about is nobody wants to wear their goofy fucking clothes anymore either. The fad is over and they better start saving as much of that t-shirt money as they can.” — DW to FiveOuncesofPain, regarding the recent reports that Affliction will hold its third (and likely final) event on July 11th, the same day as UFC 100.

"I called BJ to tell him to stop with the BS and to start fucking training." — DW on Sirius Radio yesterday (via BloodyElbow). Our thoughts exactly.

"Apparently he doesn’t know what guys who are on steroids look like, okay? They don’t fuckin’ look like me…You know what I’m on? I’m on fuckin’ pizza, chicken fingers, and cheeseburgers, okay?…Pregnant bitches don’t eat as much as fuckin’ I do right now." — DW responds to allegations made by Tiki Ghosn that he’s a steroid abuser, in a new video for Trumph United (via CageWriter).

@Anonymous: If you spent $20,000 a year, you might as well spend it on Affliction shirts. You'd be able to afford like two or three of them and you'd get none of the physical side-effects of HGH. Though the mental grief and anguish from wearing such clothing could arguably be worse. Wear with caution.

So I was watching some of the old ultimate fighter shirts and Dana was rocking Affliction, guess when they stuck their nose in his buisness, he flipped his mind? Maybe Pizza Hut or McDonalds will join the game and then Dana will stop eating them?

and if i could afford it (20k+ a yr), no doubt i'd take it. :)

Dana is LATE
That Dana call should’ve come much earlier. He wasn’t objective at all in this matter and took BJ’s side right away.

The NSAC verdict contradicts BJ and Dana, who both made a big thing out of this after the fight.

While Lesnar is a good “freak show WWE” type marketing tool, GSP is the UFC’s real marketing gem. He is what will make MMA and UFC legit in the sports world. You don’t risk wasting a diamond like GSP to help an old puddle of mud like BJ Penn.

By letting BJ Penn “BS” so much, Dana made a very bad business decision (which is rare). His bosses (Fertita) probably told him so if he hadn’t realized it by himself.

Afflictions clothing line was highly popular with the guido population during the late 2007 and early 2008 era but as soon as Afflicitons first fight night came along and people began to talk fighting to the guidos they had no idea what the hell they had gotten themselves into (they knew absolutlely nothing about mma). At this point the guidos realized how fucking stupid they were and accepted defeat.

Aftermath- Guidos still wear the Affliction shirts because it is just such a typical guido shirt but they don't buy them from stores anymore and they just wear the ones they already have. This hurts Afflictions financial situation considerably. This theory supports Dana White's "Save their T-shirt money" reccomendation.

Assliction. They do have one or two ok looking designs but it's the nature of the guys that sport them that give the brand a black eye.

And their name just sounds so fearful and imposing. Anyone not actually in the cage/ring that wears one is always just one set of squats away from competing, yo! When I see the pudgy guy in the mall that looks like he might hit the gym here or there, wearing one of the shirts I just know not to mess with him because he watches MMA. Definitely evokes toughness.

I don't wear 'em because I don't have the prerequisite sleeve tattoos.

As if being gay wasn't heartbreaking enough to your mother, now you gotta go wearing Affliction shirts to family function?

Other than #2 and #3, Jdavis gets my comment of the week.

Good shit.
J-Dog- March 23, 2009 at 9:12 am
I may not always agree with the way he treats the fighters sometimes.... but comments like these is why I really love DW. I think he's a lot better than a stuffy guy in a suit. He's fuckin' likeable in my book.

@CanadianProduce: Who knows why people are attracted to you? I have noticed, however, that a lot of your jokes aren't particularly clever or that funny (Like that "Yikes" one). That's probably why people keep getting on your case.
CanadianProduce- March 23, 2009 at 8:53 am
Why do the phantom posters love me so much? What did I do to garner so much attention? They must see me as a father figure or something, I guess Daddy didn't love you. I apologize for all of the loneliness and sufferring. God bless you and your keyboard.

Affliction shirts aren't that bad. I like the Royalty series because a lot of them have skeletons in them and cool religious imagery. I have a few myself that I wear to dinner parties and family reunions.

And btw... out for's one of those heavy flow months.
