(If a fighter’s going to strut like that, Dana wants them to at least have something to strut about.)
To say Dana White is a bit upset with the two fighters from Saturday night’s UFC 119 main event would be a major understatement. A more appropriate statement would be that the UFC president is pissed right off with the lethargic performances put in by Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic and Frank Mir at the Conseco Field House in Indianapolis last weekend.
White spoke to ESPN today and took aim at one half of the duo that made up 119′s final fight — former heavyweight champion, Mir who he hinted that he hasn’t decided whether or not fans will see fight again in the Octagon.
When asked outright if he was considering cutting Mir, who can hardly be considered a killer any more at 2-2 in his past four outings, although he still talks like he has gold around his waist, making lofty claims like "I’m taking Mirko’s leg home and I’m going to hang it on my mantle," White didn’t beat around the bush.
"Sure. You really, really need to show up and deliver. This is a job… I have no clue about Frank. To talk the stuff he does, and then fight like he fought, that’s a little frustrating," he said. "Once Cro Cop stuffed his takedown attempt, his heart fell out on the floor. If Frank Mir can’t bully you, his heart shrinks to the size of the Grinch’s. If he can’t take you down, his heart shrinks to the size of a pea."
Ironically, it’s White who could play the part of the Grinch to Frank’s family if he cuts him just before Christmas. Judging by the series of tweets Mir’s teenage son angrily typed on the iPhone paid for by the UFC, including three that were direct messages to White questioning his sexuality (in a manner of speaking) because of his decision to not award his pop the "Knockout of the Night" bonus he should have won by default, the only thing Dana would be keeping out of the kid’s stocking is a lump of coal.
Here’s what mini-Mir had to say about the situation in a series of tweets he wrote following his dad’s lacklustre KO win over Cro Cop:
@danawhite thinks hes a badass cuz he drives a lambo and sits by the cage, and puts pics of himself wrappin his hands for nothing!! FAGGET!!
cant believe that shit!!! @thefrankmir didnt get KO of the night cuz @danawhite doesnt like him?? what a hater
@EdwardsKim cro cock didnt do shit that WHOLE fight!!!
@AlmightySavage yeah we all did but @danawhite cant handle the fact @thefrankmir knocked cro cock the fuck out!
It seems that Daddy may have laid the boom down on Jr. as Marcus’ Twitter account has now been deleted.
If one of my kids went on a public forum and not only slagged my boss, but also sent him inflammatory and improperly spelled messages, I’d be pissed. You’re supposed to save that shit for the dinner table and family drives, not Twitter and Facebook, son.
Anyway, White went on to say that he’s sick of fighters who train for months for a fight and then go out on fight night and do everything but fight.
"You go to your job and don’t perform, what will happen? And when people say, ‘Hey, these guys put their lives on the line,’ that’s a crock of s—. This sport is so safe. These guys have chosen to be fighters! These guys aren’t going into Afghanistan," he said. "The U.S. military puts their life on the line. Police, firefighters walk into the line of fire … UFC fighters do not. These are smart guys with college educations. If they don’t want to do this, go out and get a real job."
Translation: If you want to dress like a fighter and not get punched in the face, get a regular job and wear your TapouT hat and Affliction shirt out to the sports bar on fight night and pretend you’re a fighter like all the other douchebags.
This latest impasse with Frank might be the straw for White, who is said to have torn a strip off of Mir for comments he made about wanting Brock Lesnar to die in the Octagon in their UFC 100 bout last year. Dana has recently adopted a new, "I’m not putting up with any fighter’s bullshit, regardless of who they are or how good they might be," which he first tried out on heavyweight prospect Todd Duffee, who he axed earlier this month, citing his "terrible attitude" as the primary reason for his firing.

What I don't care about is everyone being group-referential. If someone wrote something funny, writing something funny back. Typing his name after an at symbol and saying it was funny compels me to wheel all the way back up, and after that happens three times in the same thread, I'm going to post this at the bottom. Geez.
