(“Wait till you see what I do to his cornermen when I win, Herb. It’s going to be funnier than Benny Hill.”)
UFC president Dana White spoke with MMAFighting.com today about the allegations made by Jorge Rivera‘s camp that Michael Bisping spit on one of Rivera’s trainers following his UFC 127 win in Australia Saturday night. According to White, Bisping could be fined or punished for the classless move and could also face a suspension for the unsportsmanlike conduct he displayed.
White bluntly told Fighters Only, “He’s in trouble!”
Athletes in other sports found guilty of the same infraction have faced stiff fines and moderate suspensions. Bisping should not be treated differently.
In 1991 while playing for the Philadelphia 76ers against the New Jersey Nets, Charles Barkley spit towards a fan who was making racial slurs towards him and inadvertently his a young girl instead. He was fined $10,000 and suspended one game.
Terrell Owens was fined $35,000 in 2006 for spitting in the face of Atlanta cornerback DeAngelo Hall. T.O. wasn’t suspended, nor was he kicked out of the game as officials did not see him do it.
It’s likely that Bisping will receive more than just a slap on the wrist, considering the fact that White also feels that the illegal knee the cocky Brit landed on the noggin of Rivera while “El Conquistador” was on both knees was intentional.
Here’s what he told ESPN about the dubious shot:
“It absolutely looked intentional. He walked over to the corner and I said, ‘You hit him with a knee. You’re not supposed to [hit him with a knee].’ Listen, I don’t care how much you don’t like a guy, you don’t start doing stuff like that.’ Even after the fight, these guys are all emotional. I’m pretty sure it’s over now. That stuff drives me crazy.”
So I guess Chael Sonnen might be wasting his energy calling Bisping out if “The Count” might be facing a suspension.
According to MMAWeekly, Sonnen sent the following email to UFC matchmaker Joe Silva today requesting a fight with Bisping when he returns to action:

Re: Spitsbing & his tainted victory
Joe:
If you get a chance to talk with him, please mention to your idiot-in-residence Michael Spitsbing it’ll be a little tougher to knee ME in the head when I’m charging at him like a runaway train and mincing him through the fence like a boiled potato, should we ever have the pleasure of each other’s company for a few (VERY few) moments in the Octagon.
Oh; and I’d suggest to him being a little careful about spitting on any of MY cornermen, since any one of them can beat him up as badly as I can. Thanks ever so much.
Hope all is well.
-Chael Sonnen

It’s going to be weird seeing a fight where Chael is the fan favorite.
I CANNOT BELIEVE that an english person could pretend that jorge wasn't being funny, he even made a god damned monty python reference. Can you please name some more original smack talk that isn't from chael sonnen?
honestly, for people to say 'jorge deserved to be illegaly struck and to lose the fight to a cheater and get his corner spat on, because JORGE MADE FUN OF HIM ON THE INTERNET' - YOU ARE NOT REALLY ENGLISH. You're a fucking turk or polat or from cyprus/holland like bisping, and you just live in england. You know why? Because english people not only GET jokes, they can TAKE them.
Bisping is the worst representative of britain since graham norton
