Dana White’s UFC 90 Video Blog Goes Meta

Dana White’s UFC 90 video blog 10/23/08 – Watch more free videos

Today on Dana White‘s UFC 90 Video Blog (though it was actually recorded yesterday) White talks with Steve Cofield about the video blog in a conversation that’s captured on the video blog. Is your mind freaked yet? No? How about if we post another picture with Criss Angel in the background? You guys seemed to love that.

The talk with Cofield is actually one of the highlights of this entry. They discuss EliteXC and Jared Shaw, who (surprise!) isn’t really happy about anything these days. This comes after White discusses the situation with the press, who push him a little for being so jubilant about EliteXC folding and leaving plenty of fighters and staff unemployed. As you might expect, White pushes back with swift retorts like “Too fucking bad. Go get another job.” Fortunately Kevin Iole is there to help him clarify this stance.

Those of you who were hoping that the dissolution of EliteXC and the sudden availability of Gina Carano would make White rethink adding a women’s division to the UFC, sorry. He says EliteXC’s fighters will get picked up, but when asked about interest in the women he replies, “not me.” Didn’t even need to think about it.

the original MMA was boring to some.
it was more like a true fight to the death though.

- it was like world football about suspense, and what technique would ultimately (in the true sense of the word), ultimately lead to victory

weather a storm tie up some muscle dude for 30 minutes until he passes out or taps.
to me (i know i'm in the minority), that's more relevant and interesting than guys who train the same way for cookie cutter 5 minute rounds

all before the video clip & hi-lite reel era.

so although i respect dana white - i ask you guys:

what sport is he helping.

he's more of a biz-man

he's more interested in

pay per view monopoly money than knowing
if lindland could beat spider
or fedor beat couture

the facts show he wants to avoid that.

he's rich enough to retire - so why recognie and matchup the best fighters even when they are
not in UFC

i' doagree with dana f'nWhite's opinion on elite xc stand up incentives
except :
he's somewhat of A HYPOCRITE BECAUSE:
even not counting eye gouging and stuff...

only some early MMA were open ended

Does the lion tell the gazelle stop, I have to catch my breath?!

what 's your excuse now mr righteous

Did I hear Dana right? He said he will not pick up women to fight in the UFC....... Sorry if I think he might be eating retard sammich's again : / How lame. Way to say no to all that extra money, as if there is no market for womens MMA, what a douchebag.

I'm loving the fact that there are others out there with more than half a brain that can realize how important Dana is for MMA. He is dedicating every moment of his life so we can watch the best MMA fights.

Damn damn damn damn, I say Gawd much as I hate to admit it because of the way he treats most fighters, I'm really starting to like Mr. fucking White is what I'll call him from now on. The dude's genuinely hilarious, on top of all aspects of putting on shows, which I think is the main reason each show comes off so well and most similar to the next in production...along with really being excited for fights and caring about mma as a whole...say what you will but that "fucker" as he would say does an excellent job at what he's suppose to do...and spends basically the majority of his life doing so. How can we as fans not respect his dedication to putting out a great product for we the consumers? I can no longer disrespect the guy in good conscious. I know many including me use to give him shit because of his constant foul language saying he's not being a good rep for the sport, but really this is fighting not tiddly winks, is it really that damning for him to use the word fuck every other that really going to do anything to keep mma from going mainstream...? situations like the standgate issue and these cocksuckers who are doing these things, hyping fighters just to big up their corporation who aren't really respected or talented...the things Dana er excuse me Mr. fucking White, knows these things will and I honestly believe now that he really works his ass off trying to make sure these things don't happen not only for the sake of the ufc but for the sake of mma as a sport. I don't always agree with his opinions on fighters but ffs if that's the biggest thing I find myself disagreeing with him on I'll have no issue showing him the respect that any mma fan who wants to see great fights, great production, great match ups and someone who's really looking out for this I'm beginning to think Mr. fucking White does.

Big ups Mr. Fucking White you funny hardworking mma loving fucker you.

I really think these vlogs was prob one of the most ingenious ideas for Mr. fucking White to do to improve fight fans opinions of him, even if you disagree with him as I said you have to admire the hard ass work and dedication he puts into giving us great shows n fights.

Oh and it's not nut-hugging when all that I'm saying is bunch of quick to call someone a nut-hugger fuckers.

Dana is awesome. He speaks the truth and has no reason to lie about UFC.

Those politicians sure are nice guys as well. I wish we could vote for all of them!

I bought some cigarettes the other day; the head of Phillip-Morris told me they weren't addictive so I'll be fine!

dana's just setting gina up so she's droppin' on her knees beggin' him to sign her. but what he doesn't realize is gina's got too much class to be doing that... plus she's in love with me.

BigggMMA - Please tell me that was sarcastic. That guy is a marketing machine which automatically means he has to spew bs 24/7
BigggMMA- October 23, 2008 at 5:55 pm
Dana is awesome....No BS with him...Straight up guy.

Of course no women in UFC. Dana loves cock so why would he want females?
UFC fan- October 23, 2008 at 5:45 pm
I really enjoy watching Dana White get the press told just how it is when they try to make him feel bad for saying the truth, hes right, " go get another job" indeed> its a stupid question, and its one the press thinks they can lead him to apologize, well he showed em. Fuck the press.
I also enjoyed watching him get so excited about the fights, but man if I had his job, and money I would be fucking excited as well.
Its very endearing to me as a fan to see Dana White admit publicly, and to his fighter that he fucked up his name, and the fact he reads stuff we say, and apologizes to us the fan for fucking it up......I even found it damned amusing he said " thank you guys for catching that....fuckers"...he makes lite of it, and it was totally cool as hell.
I know that Dana White actually deep down feels sorry for really good people like Gina, and Cyborg, but I think I can understand why he doesn't ever want to promote women's MMA. Maybe cause hes like me, he loves women in general, and as a whole, and no matter if its their choose, and their desire, it is still hard to watch one woman beat another one to a pulp. I know its a double standard, but guys have fought since the dawn of time, its in our blood, its in our DNA, its all about testosterone , but I don't care if you hate Gina, or cyborg, or any other female fighter, deep down you know they are for real a female, and unless you are the kind of sickminded cocksucker who thinks hitting women is fun you don't really like to see women get hurt, and I admit it freely, I do NOT like to see it. I am sorry Gina won't get to pursue her dream of being a top MMA woman's fighter in the UFC, but I also don't have to be nervous while watching her fight. I, like most red-blooded males who have seen her ,thinks shes a good looking female, and seeing her beat up or cut is not really what I want to see, for any amount of money, so I don't think UFC will ever stoop that low for money or ratings.

Why isn't the Sherk-Griffin fight getting any love on his blogs?
Impartial bystander- October 23, 2008 at 5:26 pm
Let me flame myself and save everyone some typing.

You're thinking of the Diaz brothers you fucking idiot!

The rant still stands though.
Impartial bystander- October 23, 2008 at 5:22 pm

He got hurt, Kosheck is taking his place, most likely just to spite Diego. I'm calling Diego gets in the cage after the fight if Kos wins. Make that no matter who wins. And I'll throw the brothers in while I'm at it.

While I'm ranting, how come nobody ever gets in the cage after fights anymore to stir up trouble? That shit used to happen all the time and it's great hype.
NECROPHYTE- October 23, 2008 at 5:19 pm
Wasn't Diego Sanchez gonna fight on this card?
Impartial bystander- October 23, 2008 at 5:08 pm
I love how the President of the UFC acts the exact same way I do when it gets close to fight time. He's genuinely excited and pumped just to watch, no side taking, no ulterior motives. Love him or hate him he's the best thing that ever happened to MMA. He cares about the sport and he's got the balls to make sure nobody fucks it up.

I do think Dana is missing the boat on women's MMA, and I foresee him expressing his regret sometime in the future. Those fights were the only reason I ever watched EliteXC, those ladies can throw down. I mean it's not like he has to start a whole division and weight classes at first, just sign them up and throw them on cards as good matchups present themselves. Maybe start the women out in the WEC and bring the contenders up to fight Gina and Cyborg every 6 months or whatever. The only thing I don't understand is why he wouldn't want a huge draw like Gina in UFC and be able to expand MMA even more with some female fights. In my opinion it is a win/win situation. Gina/Cyborg would be huge and if that's the only fight UFC ever does, they should still do it.

you guys are friggin hilarious.
