Dana White Says Dan Henderson’s Next Fight Will Be For a UFC Title

(What has two thumbs, false teeth and a guaranteed title shot? This guy!)

After months of contradictory and unclear statements from Dan Henderson and UFC President Dana White, fans are now being told with certainty that Hendo’s next fight will be for a belt. Being the stone-cold pimp that he is, Henderson can fight in multiple divisions, and his next fight will take place at either middleweight or light-heavyweight. In a new interview with’s Megan Olivi, White had the following to say regarding the future of the winner of da greatest MMA fight ever:

Dan Henderson will get the winner of that fight or the winner of the Anderson Silva [vs. Chael Sonnen] fight. Dan Henderson just wants a title shot. There’s been a lot of talk about the stuff that I said. Here’s the thing: I offered Dan Henderson two fights. Dan Henderson wants this fight. Normally I don’t do that. Guys don’t sit around and pick their fights. There’s been very specific cases where that’s happened and it’s guys who have earned it or deserve it, and Dan Henderson is one of those guys. Listen, if Dan Henderson, Henderson has been around forever. He’s forty-something years old, he’s been knocking guys out left and right. If he wants to sit around and wait for this title shot, he can do it.”

Pretty cool that White is respecting Henderson’s accomplishments so much that he’s continuing to move past their prior contract-dispute beef. Henderson is always outspoken and has basically called White a bullshitter in the past year more than we can even keep track, but I guess he’s earned that type of independence.

Of course, White’s generosity isn’t all based on altruism. He knows that Henderson poses a legit threat to anyone with his wrestling and punching power, and brings a balls-to-the-wall aggressive style that always entertains the fans.

Check out Olivi’s full video interview with White below:

Which title would you rather see Henderson go after, and why? And which does he have a better shot at winning?

Chael will NEVER fight Hendo. Hendo is Chael's hero and mentor. It's like asking him to fight his dad. Hendo is squaring off with one of two matrix-ass black men, no doubt.

I'd say Jones because Hendo hasn't lost to him already and he'd have to cut less weight if at all.

If Anderson beats Sonnen you know damn well he's gonna stall like he always does. Fake an injury or three, shoot a video with Justin Beaver, shoot some chicken tender commercials. They'll most likely fight on Hendo's 50th birthday.

A. The BoSox gear
B. The room at the Travel-Lodge
C. or are you taking the picture as Hendo says "What has 2 thumbs and just got a wicked-awesome blow job?"

Fade into legend maybe.

After Chael beats Silva and then is immediately torn to shreds by the Brazillian crowd, Hendo will be crowned your new middle-weight champ without ever throwing a punch. He will then defend his title against Silva and gas out after the 1st round (a la Mayhem) leaving himself open for another rear-naked choke. He will then put on over 100 lbs. from all of the barbeques at the beach he attends and will fade into obscurity. Mark my words.

Bro! I have given you a thumbs up on every comment so far but I had to give this one the "finish him" gladiator thumbs down. Henderson will never fade into obscurity. He is a legend. Multiple titles in multiple weight classes. A guy with great wrestling that is NEVER scared to stand in the pocket and bang with ANYONE. The guy deserves all the credit and to be able to wait on a title shot. It should definitely be at 205 though bc the cut down to 185 just kills Dan's already depleting cardio. The guy is getting pretty damn old and is still cold-cocking the young up and coming cats. Sorry bro, but you gotta give H-Bomb some credit. HOF definitely not obscurity.

For the love of all that is holy Fletch - did you even read my comment. That whole thing is with my tongue planted firmly in my cheek. Jesus - "GLADIATOR THUMBS DOWN" - up yours. That's it - you are dead to me now. Tell your mom I will be over later. LOL

I gave you a thumbs up on this comment... Does that get me back in your good graces? Mom said you need to go up in weight that you are looking really withdrawn much like James Irvin at MW. :)

The skinnier I get the bigger my junk looks. I mean, it hasn't gotten any larger but it is all about perspective.
For example: If Bob Sapp and Nam Phan have the same size unit - Whose johnson looks bigger?
Answer - neither
