"I fight December 5th — I’m not allowed to say who I’m fighting — but I have my fight on the finale, and then after that, I just got orders, got called back in active duty into the Army. I was in the Army for four years, I got out with an honorable discharge, I’ve been out for almost two years now and they just called me back. On the orders it says ‘Operation Enduring Freedom,’ so I’m pretty sure I’m going to Afghanistan. Not 100% yet, but that’s what my orders are telling me…
I have four years active, and then I have four years inactive, which means I don’t have to report to anybody, I don’t have to do anything. But if for any reason anything happens in the future, then they can call me back at any time…At first I was kind of pissed. I was just like, ‘Yeah well, I’ve already served my country for four years and I’ve already been out for almost two years. I’m getting my fighting started and getting the ball rolling with all that, and now you’re calling me back.’ At first I was kind of mad, but then the very next day, I just accepted it. I was just like ‘yeah, I gotta go over there and do what I gotta do,’ and then come back in a year and continue working on my fighting."
Damn, dude. Can’t Dana pull some strings? It would be just his luck that Darrill wins the contract, then has to take off to hunt Bin Laden’s homeboys — a perfect end to a season where the coaches don’t even fight. Schoonover will be deployed for 400 days, and hopes to lose enough weight so that he can compete at light-heavyweight in the future. But no matter who he faces next month at the TUF 10 finale, he’ll be in good company…
From a press release sent out this afternoon by Spike:
Kimbo Slice, the wildly popular mixed martial arts heavyweight and member of the cast of “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights,” will fight for the first time in the UFC live on Spike TV Saturday, December 5 at 9:00pm. Slice will appear in a bout on “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights” finale fight card emanating from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV.
Slice’s opponent will be announced at a later date, pending on what transpires on the special two-hour “The Ultimate Fighter” episode on Wednesday, December 2 (9:00-11:00pm ET/PT). Despite suffering a loss in episode 3 to Roy Nelson, Slice has the opportunity to return to fight on the show if a cast mate is injured and compete for the coveted title of “The Ultimate Fighter.”
Yeah, they’re still pushing that angle, even though the Houston Alexander thing is pretty much out of the bag…at least we think so. Watch the trailer for Wednesday’s episode below and cross your fingers for The Bearded1.
oh that titties... go serve your country, because after all you are the breast man for it. You've really milked your time on tuf for long enough. oh good god i could do this all day.
Anyways i think Demico is the cast member that gets to come back, kimbo was sitting on a stool looking somber talking to page in a clip, i bet that is when he says he can't fight because of his knee.
every1 laughing at darril and calling him titties when he's going to fight for the USA are fucking jokes and cowards!!! sheltered little babies on their mommies titties that wouldnt know what to do in a real fight for your life! they would be sucking and fucking some donkey's dick in iraq while getting laughed at by al-quida troops!!!!
Here's why I'm betting Kimbo doesn't fight again next episode. If he was fighting, all the advertisements would tell viewers to tune in for Kimbo's return to the Octagon. They wouldn't tease the viewer; they'd say it outright. If he is actually fighting next episode, there's no reason to create a mystery about it. Ratings will be higher if your ads say, "See Kimbo fight next week."
Apparently the government owns Titties' life. What a shame, especially considering that he'll probably either be guarding the opium fields for the CIA or guarding the oil pipeline for Dutch Royal Shell.
...Random note: Mad props for Amir Sodallah. Looked good against Baroni (granted, Baroni's stamina is about as much as a 6-inch turkey sub) But still, good fight for Amir.
worst season evah, yet the DW hyped every fucking episode like it was a free PPV. I hope the ratings are so bad Spike drops their time slot for COPS re runs. I'm going to laugh myself to sleep when everyone tunes in expecting to see Ferg fight and he doesn't. The only thing this season has managed to accomplish is exposing Rampage as a Douche Bag! What a turn around, I used to pray that Page would K.O. Sugar, now just the opposite.
