Efrain Escudero’s TUF 8 Blog: The Grand Finale

(Junie would never accept a "Hertz donut" from Efrain ever again.)

During the entire season of The Ultimate Fighter: Team Nogueira vs. Team Mir, lightweight standout Efrain Escudero blogged his reactions to each new episode, right here on CagePotato.com. And wouldn’t you know it, the son-of-a-bitch is going to the finals (congrats, Efrain)! Check out what he has to say about episodes 11 and 12, and let him know how you feel in the comments section.

***

So the day is finally here, the biggest fight of my life. As I’m preparing in my room I just start to think back on how it all started. Who would have thought wrestling in junior high would have turned into this — whooping ass on national television. Since the semi-final matches were announced, everyone was itching to get back in the ring and get their shot at glory.

First, Bader and Elliot fought. Do you guys remember back in earlier episodes I said it wasn’t a good idea for Elliot to call out Bader? Well that was pretty much it; Bader controlled the fight and pretty much just muscled out a victory by decision — so the scoreboard reads Team Nog: 1, Team Mir: 0.

Everything in the house is pretty chill at this point, as these fights are so important; I was in the zone, blocking out everything around me. I could only focus on one thing and that was finishing Junie. The guy just runs his mouth a little too much and all I wanted to do was put my fist in there to close it up.

Now it’s the semis for the other spot in the LW finals — Roop vs. Nover. Now don’t get me wrong, I like George — hell, we have been friends for quite some time before coming on this show. But George got worked. Phillipe came out dropping bombs, the fight then went to the ground and Phillipe worked a Kimura. Phillipe looked pretty good out there. So now the score board reads Team Nog: 2, Team Mir: 0.

Was it me or did anyone else think there hadn’t been a good Junie tantrum in quite some time?? I’m skipping the Krystof vs. Vinny fight. Vinny landed a sick arm-bar, case closed, Team Nog: 2, Team Mir: 1.

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome back the Junie Browning show. It had been gone way to long — I sure as hell didn’t miss it. So watching the show last night I get to see how terrified Junie actually was, which was hilarious especially when he was trying to give his spot to Shane. It finally hit Junie: HE ISN’T ANY GOOD.

Back at the house the guys were just outside bullshitting on the patio and someone turned on the crazy switch in Junie’s head and he’s throwing glasses and taking swings at Shane Primm. Then of course he goes running away from the situation when he is confronted.

Then Dana comes to the house. At this point we are all thinking Junie is going home for good and that Nelson was going to take his place. I was praying that Dana would let that idiot stay, I’ve been wanted to beat his ass since day 1 and to get down to the eve of the fight and tell me no — that’s like a girl taking off her top and then asks you what you’re staring at. So Dana gathers up the guys and asks what we want to do with Junie. Everybody wants to see him get his ass kicked so we vote to leave him in the house and let me get a crack at him.

In my dressing room I was getting jacked. I was so focused on finishing Junie to leave no questions unanswered and show him what I was all about. The game plan was to go in and show Junie that I can stand with him and once he realized that he would just quit because he doesn’t have a chance with me on the ground. Because according to him I am the “Ultimate Wrestler”

As I am walking into the cage I look and see Junie sitting down in the corner — what is this guy’s problem, I was thinking. It made me ready to smash him even more. So the bell finally rings and we get to throwing. We start exchanging and I stand with Junie and I could see his confidence disappear with each second of the fight. Junie attempts to take me down — and was very unsuccessful. I decide to take the fight to the ground; I get in Junie’s guard, slipped in a darce choke and Junie tapped. After they announced the decision Junie ran off like a girl who had been embarrassed at her senior prom. I was so happy that I won. The whole situation of the fight — who it was against, the stakes of winning — was awesome.

So here it is guys, Bader vs. Vinny and Nover vs. Escudero. Make sure you guys watch the live finale next Saturday. I just want to thank all my fans and people who helped me get to where I am today. You know who you are.

The finale showed exactly what Junie was talking about. All you did was lay on Phillipe. Congrats on the win,but Junie was right. I look forward to a rematch
Dagnut- December 9, 2008 at 2:57 pm
No doubt your a junie fan you can't even string a sentence together...he showed nothing couldn't even put delgado away...you have nothing to go on..it's not a matter of hating the guy, he hasn't displayed any skills at all so why has he talent? no power, no cardio no jits, no wrestling...where are you getting this shit?
Tony M- December 8, 2008 at 7:19 pm
alright first off all you junie haters are s8 up idiots that guy has the most talent i have ever seen in a 155er he is definitly going to go farther than both efrain and phillipe 2nd off i kno the type of fighter junie is this loss that he suffered to efrain will not only make him way way better but it will make him mature as a fighter and that is realli all he needed to be the best i agree with junie if that is junie completely training is a HUGE part of the fight and if ur not comfortable training with idiots like dave kaplan etc. then u mite not b in top shape for ur fight TUF only makes junie look like the bad guy but realli efrain is the cockiest mutha fucker i have ever seen u can just see it in his face sure, he beat junie at id say 50 % he fights junie at 100 % later down the road i will bet my car my house my anything u name it that he will teach efrain the lesson he deserves wheter phillple or efrain wins it doesnt realli matter cuz i kno who shudve won and who will be the most successful ... JUNIE BROWNING I LOVE U BRO I KNO UR THE BEST KEEP TRAINING HARD UR A SICK FIGHTER!!!
PS. remember this post when junie is holding the lightweight belt bcuz im right!
Junie's mom- December 5, 2008 at 7:35 pm
Junie are you on the internet again? I told you that you should take your meds and go to bed.

Were those very nice things to say about the guy that handed your ass to you?
Remsaa- December 5, 2008 at 1:48 pm
Xtreme Couture has a little league now?
shaolin goat- December 5, 2008 at 1:21 pm
Efrain, I kind of hope that they match you up with Junie again in a UFC match when he's been training at Xtreme Couture and doesn't have the house distractions. I think he'll beat you worse than you're gonna get beat by Nover on the 13th.
Remsaa- December 5, 2008 at 1:00 pm
I want the Arizonans to win (GO AZ GO) but in all honesty its going to be an uphill battle.

Vinny is a monster, he is a cocky son of a bitch though and my favorite part of the show was him begging to get back into big No'g good graces.

Nover has some amazing talent and a great striker. He seems like a good kid and it's hard not to like him.

So although I want Bader to win I think Vinny is gonna end up jumping guard and getting a sub, just like he did with K-Sos.

Either way though both of those guys have a good future in the sport.

Nover vs Efrain, no offense to Efrain but I just don't think he can keep up with Phillipe's level of intensity. Phillipe has great accuracy and he starts blasting and throwing combos right away, Efrain seems much more timid and that isnt going to work out in his favor.

Junie you talk so much shit you cant even believe what you say. I have a friend like you , no joke, he can be nice but can get violent real quick. Also something you two have in common, he is a homosexual...
Clue-by-Four- December 5, 2008 at 11:54 am
Junie can always get work as Stankie's booze runner and ball washer. He won't have to flip burgers.
Anonymous- December 5, 2008 at 9:56 am
Efrain, I'm for Nover on this one, but I'm sure you'll be his toughest opponent yet. He finished his fights quickly, but I wanna see how good his cardio is if the fight goes the distance. Plus I'm not too sure if he can out-wrestle you. Best of luck to you both! It's hard to hate on you both coz you and Nover were probably some of the cooler people in the house. Thanks for f*cking up nelson and browning, the two idiots in your division.
Olie- December 5, 2008 at 9:06 am
England Rules, what's your name so we can watch out for you on the next TUF season? ;)
Dana White is a HOMO- December 5, 2008 at 7:25 am
Efrain, I jumped up off the couch and cheered when you made that a-hole Junie tap! Good luck in the finals btotha!

Junie, you should go back to high school (or junior high) and finish your education. You are the dumbest inbread m.f. I have ever seen in my life!

You just moved the Diaz brothers up a notch in my book!

England Rules- December 5, 2008 at 7:06 am
The fact is no matter how you come across you will always have Bitches taking pot shots....
You did what you had to do and now your in the final but it all counts for nothing if you dont win.
Good foot work like the Count used against Lieben will keep you out of harms way,
I think you could knock him out GSP style low low high with the leg kicks, chop away watch his guard drop and bang "Eat shin" 100k in your "sky rocket" then you can pop over to old Blighty and Fight at the O2.

@ Olie

I like it.
Funk- December 5, 2008 at 6:59 am
Man, the early comments are some of the funniest things I've read on the internet in a long time! I'll give the win to Vinny in the 1st round by sub of course. But yeah, I can actually see any of these two win in the lightweight fight. It's the fight I pretty much wanted for the finale!
RealTalk- December 5, 2008 at 6:29 am
Hi Junie!!!!!!! How's it going these days since the choooooooooke!! haaaa
Junie's Taint- December 5, 2008 at 6:18 am
I have to agree right up until the vinnie Rd 2 triangle. I think this will be 3:26 in the first with Vinnie winning by Vinnieplata (Inverted armbar with the left ankle tucked under Bader's chin).
Dagnut- December 5, 2008 at 5:33 am
This place is now just populated with retards and teenagers. Firstly congrats to you, you fought well and beat everything that's in front of you that's all you can do and you did it convincingly.
I think you have as good a chance in the final as Phillipe.
As for Junie Brown, I posted here before he had even fought anyone in the house, when he first threw he's tantrums that he was a coward and that had proved to have been the case, how anyone can support a guy who is afraid to fight is beyond me.
Mostly he squared up to the 205'ers who he knew wouldn't hit him...he then jumps the cage when there's 10 guys to hold him back..a coward and a disgrace..Lieben behaved badly in the house(not nearly as badly as brown) but at least he backed it up the guy has balls.
If I ever see browning in the UFC I'll be disappointed. Complete and utter prick artist.
emptyhandkiller- December 5, 2008 at 5:11 am
Efrain, thank you so much for putting away that hillbilly halfwit, Junie! On the show, I could see the fire in your eyes at the start of the fight. There was no doubt as to the outcome. Junie, go back to your bent trailer with the leaking roof and bumblast your quartet of half brothers while you swill moonshine. Efrain, best of luck against Nover! I will not bet, though, because I also like and admire Nover. You are both sincere, humble, hard working fighters. I won't even pick a winner in this one.
Olie- December 5, 2008 at 2:41 am
"you wanker pussy" - are you illiterate?

Surely you mean, "Fuck English?". Like what I did there? =]
Olie- December 5, 2008 at 2:27 am
Oh no the guy above me. I doubt he's serious but he could be the English Junie. That would be pretty funny. Chav/pikey scum.
Anonymous- December 5, 2008 at 2:27 am
FUCK England. You wanker pussy

Olie- December 5, 2008 at 2:25 am
Efrain comes across as a really nice guy. He stayed in the house and took all the bullshit from Junie & Nelson and didn’t rise to it. Many guys would have lost the plot and succumbed to their level of idiocy but not Efrain, despite being the junior of the trio. And guess what? The guy legitimately beat both of these guys hating on him and now he’s in the live final.

I think Nover will easily win, but don’t take away any respect for Efrain because the guy comes across as a gentleman and a professional.

Good luck to Efrain in the live final. I will be rooting for Efrain because I like the guy (I also like Nover) and I like an underdog. However, you can’t get away from the fact that Nover is better standing, has better cardio and has better Jiu Jitsu. He always looks so calm and relaxed which is a top attribute to the best fighters out there (GSP, Anderson Silva, Fedor Emelianenko etc).

P.S. I wonder if Junie could beat Dave Kraplan?
England Rules- December 5, 2008 at 1:18 am
I WILL FUCK UP ALL THE 155'ERS IN THE NEXT SEASONS "TUF" AND THEN I'LL BE COMING FOR YOU BITCHES.
battouter- December 4, 2008 at 11:59 pm
