The UFC is classified as a promoter under Nevada regulations so the comparison is right on. You may think they are a league because they have enough fighters to schedule fights with their own guys but they are still a promoter and have to be licensed as such.

Oscar del la Hoya may be the president of Golden Boy – but that is a boxing promoter.

If Oscar was head of the WBO, WBA, WBC or IBF then his promotional efforts would receive an entirely different type of scrutiny.

Im not going to go into it because its not that big of a deal, but the fact of the matter is that he does a damn good job and it would be extremely hard to replace him.
