Ruben Vera catches up with Jason Mayhem Miller – Watch more Funny Videos
CagePotato’s West Coast Correspondent Ruben Vera recently got some time with Strikeforce/DREAM star Jason Miller, and if there’s one thing you should take away from this interview, it’s that BULLY BEATDOWN RETURNS NOVEMBER 4TH!!! Okay, now that the shameless plug is out of the way, we can get down to business. Mayhem is rather upset that Nick Diaz has the gall to talk shit and throw water bottles at him backstage after Strikeforce events, but won’t step up to fight him in front of a paying audience. He also runs down his DREAM.16 fight against Kazushi Sakuraba, his recent trip to Brazil, bringing MMA to a new audience with Bully Beatdown, and UFC 121‘s marquee matchups. Some highlights…
On Nick Diaz: "Man, this guy’s a paper champion, get out of here with this. What the hell? So he beat up a 155-pound KJ Noons, and ‘ohhh, you gotta come down to 170, bro.’ Get out of here! Like, okay, what exactly does that mean? The only fight anyone wants to see is me and Nick Diaz. Outside of the UFC, that’s the only fight that people are talking about, here in America. I’m sorry, that’s how it is. You broke it off, you jumped me. You did it, you asked for it, you talked about, for years, guys with painted hair who bark at themselves. Who are you talking about? You didn’t call out names. I’m calling out names! Nick Diaz is a bitch…he wants it, but he doesn’t. ‘Oh, come to my gym and fight me.’ Come to your gym and fight you? Really? That’s what you’re saying now? Get out of here, man. Step in the cage and fight me, you know? It’s ridiculous."
On Kazushi Sakuraba: "He’s an old man, but at the same time, that’s my hero, so when they said to fight him I said ‘okay, I’ll fight him.’ It was cool, it was like surreal. It was like magical to be standing there across from him and hear his name. I was like ‘damn, I’m really doing this right now’…It was magic. I was happy to have that happen."
On Jake Shields: "[Martin] Kampmann did a good job, the best he could, but it’s hard when you got the blanket on you. That guy is good at what he does…he did the same thing to Henderson, that’s what he’s good at…I don’t know how you feel if after every win you get booed. I would feel bad. I think he’s good enough to go for submissions and really try to finish the fight, but he’d rather not. I think he just wants the win."
On Brock Lesnar: "[Lesnar vs. Velasquez] was the best fight ever…Brock Lesnar puts on good fights. Win or lose, he puts on a good fight. That’s something to be said, you know what I mean? And regardless of whether you love him or hate him or whatever, you gotta respect that he puts on a damn good fight. I knew Cain had the tools to beat him up, and it was awesome to watch it happen, but now that I realize that Brock Lesnar puts on awesome fights, it makes me want to see Brock Lesnar fight again."

commentsFACT: If they took a third grade test comprised of basic spelling and sentence structure Mayhem would win.
ADVANTAGE: Mayhem
He has been the fighter 2x.
B. Who has Nick beaten that Nick should not have beaten? seriously his resume reads of a who's who of young in their career or way past prime or comes from a very weak promotion and built on a stack of cards. Can you really put him in the top 5 of 170 in UFC?? top 10?? i would maybe concede 9th or 10th spot.
C. Sheildzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz comments were dead on. only props i can give sheilds was surviving the first round vs Henderson.
D. what other fighter have you heard say "i was fighting an old version of my hero and i was just happy to be able to look at my history and see his name" which in Miller-esque language is basically what he said.
E. MTV concepted the show and chased miller, not the other way around.
F. he should be in the UFC for marketability alone. Unfortunately he has the same problem as Nick, no not the homo supression and extreme drug issues, he plays by different rules. Anyone who works small companies and ducks large ones knows you have to play a certain game in large companies. Miller would be eaten alive in the UFC, by the press.
Diaz will most likely keep throwing cheap shots in crowded areas so a reply will be blocked by others, hence the bitch part and being a scared homo...don't think got that right but it sounds true.
Bully Beatdown: if you like Mayhems sense of humour you will like it, if you find his sense of humour annoying you will hate it.
If Diaz won't agree to a non title bout at a catchweight of 177.5 then he is a bitch. You can't keep starting shit with someone but then not fighting them. Unless you are scared...
Amazing, yes, until he fights Koscheck...or Fitch...or GSP...or any of the other wrestlers at WW who can stifle his game by laying on him. Not a hater either, I'm actually a big fan of his.
Diaz isn't a paper champ? Seriously? Which top ten, or even good fighters has he ever beaten? He's a chump and a pussy. He's not afraid to fight a guy when he has his whole camp with him, but he doesn't have the balls to fight one on one? Come on. But then again, I guess that's why you can relate to him kid.
Ruben: So I guess, what I'm trying to say is, when did you decide to start making important television?
Miller: Ah...yes. Thank you. You see, in terms of the socioeconomic zeitgeist of American ideals...
Second, Miller v. Diaz would be a lot closer than everyone says it'd be, I'd say Diaz has just as good a chance as Miller
Third I'm possibly the most angry out of everyone because of the sakuraba fight... It was sobbing as hard as when Arona got his hands on him (you know like when kids cry so hard they can't breathe and become silent)
last thanks for the support and haters keep hating cause that's all you got
and Ruben Vera .. you need to goto barnes and noble and pick up a copy of How to give an Interview for Dummies ... or get some lessons from Ariel Helwani ..
Ok, first: Carlos Mencia takes douchbaggery to new lows. Just sayin.
Second: How is no one impressed that one of our own is pulling these interviews? Hello? Well done, Ruben, and keep it up.
Third: Look, i hate Miller a little right now, because he kinda made Sakuraba look old and bad. (I mean, yeah, he is old, but damn. That's one of my heroes you're fucking up, Miller, couldn't you have waited until the third round so he at least looks competitive?) But still, why all the hate? I've never watched BB, so i assume that's where a lot of this is coming from.
