Obviously none of you have watched any of Nick's fights...the kid is a beast! Just ask any of his past opponents how "handycapped" he is. Bunch of fools if you think he can't compete with the best.

WAR Nick "The Handyman" Newell!!!

It was pretty fucking funny. Given the kind of humor that is routinely deemed acceptable on this site (e.g. the torrent of 'Cyborg is a dude' jokes in every story about her), I don't see why people all of a sudden find themselves compelled to take the high road.
HugePenisLarry- August 27, 2011 at 3:09 pm
I was trying to be funny. I mean, good luck to the guy. But I will be god damned if I'm not going to take the chance to be funny.

It's not that "they dont let people with physical or mental handicaps in the Olympics," it's that people with handicaps usually cannot compete at elite levels. Apparently you have never heard of Oscar Pistorius, the South African double-amputee sprinter who competed at the World Championships this year and has already clocked an Olympic A standard for the 400m dash. If he makes the team, he'll be allowed to compete. Given that, outside of speculation, no one has demonstrated specifically how Newell's amputation is an advantage, I don't see why he shouldn't be able to compete as long as he can defend himself, which is pretty much the minimum standard for allowing something to compete in combat sports.

I wasn't kidding or trying to be with it. There's just no place in this sport, especially at the elite levels (much less the UFC) for someone with such a handicap. Sure I think they're brave, and should be commended for their fighting spirit, but it's JUST NOT FAIR!!! And I don't think we as fans should be forced to accept it or, "give em a chance" because, of the obvious. They don't let people with physical or mental handicaps in the olympics with the olympians that don't have handicaps. They have a "special olympics" for them. When this kid finally takes a serious ass whoopin, maybe some of you will change your tone.

Let's support a guy we helped out on the site. Obviously newell is part of potato nation. Im sure he will boast our brand. I hope my comment wasn't too shitty. I was being a smartass somewhat. It's obvious he has a disadvantage and trains super hard to compete. WAR NEWELL!

Yeah, these comments are even too low for me. Kick some ass Nick!!!

I imagine some of you find your comments amusing and possibly even insightful. I find them quite childish and ignorant, good luck Nick and to Jesse as well.

Makes me think about Scary Movie 2. Take my strong hand!
XENOPHON- August 26, 2011 at 11:57 pm
hahaha....your funny.
but where could you even secure it from? Not laced to the back of his elbow?
Burgers- August 26, 2011 at 11:06 pm
A tiny little glove for his mutant hand? Ridiculous.
PERPATRAITOR- August 26, 2011 at 10:56 pm
It's too hard to defend. He has awesome leverage while on top mount. You can't grab someone arm and control it from bottom. You grab their wrist. Shit and forget a Kimura on that side. He has a weight cut advantage too. With no jab, ability to lock hands, hard for him to submit people also. I'd say he's even on the playing field.
XENOPHON- August 26, 2011 at 8:39 pm
Here is my take on Newell.
He has done well to date but - once he finds himself in front of a true puncher, my guess is he is gonna get floored.
Not saying Newell can't take a punch, but even the best of defenders once staggered, almost always requires both arms to have a chance at buying time and regaining ones composure.
As for the malformed left forearm, for the first time I clearly see numb implements designed specifically for the eye gouge.
Something is wrong with them being unprotected/ungloved.
One if he has no bone below the nubs, he risks having them easily torn off. Not the end of the world, many other men have lost a ear, finger, or toe. In his case he may need them for dialing a phone a phone in an emergency. Sure he holds the phone in his right hand, and dials with his left nubs, no?
If he has some bone or cartilage beneath the skin on those fucking little nubs, then without a doubt that is unfair - as he can still articulate both is shoulder and elbow to full effect.
Cal it a minor gripe, but something does not sit right after watching him fight a few times. The question is, I doubt there is anyway to attached a glove or boot to his lower arm?
Smitty- August 26, 2011 at 8:33 pm
GREAT!...This is just like the guy that was born with no legs or arms that everyone was so supportive of getting in the cage. IT JUST SHOULDN'T HAPPEN!!!!! If you mufuckas start actin like this is a good idea, I'm gonna kill all of you!
HugePenisLarry- August 26, 2011 at 4:54 pm
I have a feeling you're not going to hear "Newell with a thunderous left hand!" during this fight.
