Ok.. so what happens if Strikeforce goes under but it takes another year or 2 for it to happen? In the mean time we have to watch Fedor, Mousasi, and the rest of the top guys fight nobodies. That's a significant amount of time for the top fighters in the world to be fighting cans as they pass their prime. Maybe that's not a problem for you but I think it sucks. Strikeforce needs to fill out their rosters and force the fighters that they do have to actually fight (overeem/diaz) otherwise they are wasiting everyones time.

I guess I won't go as far as some to believe that good fights and good fighters wouldn't exist without the UFC and StrikeForce as we know them.

I definately agree with you ArmFarmer but there can always be a GOOD fight regardless of who is fighting but it will completely be at random. And it wont be AS good as ones with highly skilled fighters.

Also.. you seem to be under the impression that free strikeforce fights on cbs is a garuntee. Do you really think if they can't put together a full card of quality fights that the cbs deal will last? Without good fighters they can't make good fights, without good fights no one will want to watch, if no one watchs then no more tv deal and no more strikeforce on cbs. So yes, even if your stake is limited to finding the right channel then you still have reason for concern on this topic.

Ok.. let me spell this out for you as simply as possible. We all want to see good fights. That is what this conversation is about.. where you are pulling all of these other topics from is beyond me. The point is you can't see good fights.. if there are no good fighters.. to participate in the fights.

Let me make this perfectly clear.. I'm not looking out for strikeforce nor am I siding with ufc. I don't want to see one fail and the other prosper.. that is NOT what this discussion is about. I want what the rest of you want which is to see great fights, wherever they may be. That is not going to happen if strikeforce only has 3 great fighters per weightclass.. especially when some of those fighters are too busy with squash matches in Japan or can't put the bong down long enough to pee in a cup. Understand??

You're not on the same page, I don't think you understand what the disagreement is about. I never said anything about promotions, other than pointing out that fight fan has some obvious bias (see his first post).

I'm all for great fights. That's the point though, what great fights?? Fedor vs... Mousasi vs... Shields vs... That IS a massive problem.. for strikeforce, M1 global, CBS, and any fan that's interested in seeing Fedor/Mousasi/Shields ect. in competitive or at least interesting fights. I mean, does this really need to be spelled out why that's a problem?

As for promotions, like I said that wasn't what I was talking about. Fight fan is the one that felt the need to call out ufc in every other sentence of his post, I was simply commenting on that.

Strikeforce are contradicting retards. Look at the whole show- 90 % of it was copying off of what the UFC does and switching it up barely. This dude is a joke and it is clear that they are always watching the UFC and trying to copy it as much as possible. WHAT FUCKING IDIOTS. They cant come up with shit so they have to steal ideas of the UFC. Shows what inferior losers they are. Glad it was free though.

With all due respect, He (Fight Fan) has a point ArmFarmer. Don't you just want to see good fights no matter who is promoting them? I thought Strikeforce/M1 Global/CBS did a pretty good job. Like others have said, camera angles, commentating, etc wasn't the best, but all of the fights were good. I don't care which business fails or, is successful, I just want to see good fights. I'd watch Fedor/Rogers if it was on the Disney channel!!!!

I agree that it wasn't ppv quality on Tv; but, cut them a break. This is the problem with the deal. You get too many people involved in the production and everyone wants it their own way. Those announcers weren't Strikeforce; or even M1 guys, they were CBS guys who I'm sure were the most MMA educated announcers they had. Then the arena layout was a battle between all 3 companies, and you had fans with their arms up next to the cage and camera guys stepping over them. Timeslot was managed by CBS. Production was managed by CBS. Overall I feel like for what it was it deserved a solid B. They'll do better when they iron this thing out. The part that pissed me off and was completely unnecessary were the shitty camera angles. If I wanted to see the referee's ass that bad, I'd buy a ringside seat.

Very well done on the part of CBS. I watched an entire night of fights without being pummeled by self-plugs and promotion, like is the case during every UFC event. True, the commentating was not great, but it's not great in the UFC, so no big deal there.

And better to think of StrikeForce as an event, not a fighting league or organization like the UFC. There is no problem with the fact that there is no clear challenger for Fedor or that there are no clear matchups in other weight classes. When they present themselves, you're on CBS. Better that than pick your fights based on popularity or marketability, like the UFC does. That house of cards will not stand too long.

Agreed! Glitchy bad camera angles, bad commentary made me want JR back and i cant stand him, everyone in the whole production seem like they had no idea what to do or what was going on! who next for Fedor, i dont see any real compotition. JS need to get out of COMBAT sports and just wrestle around or coach, he is not a fighter at all, very unimpressed! In Short FAIL is right.

Worst production I've ever seen.

3. No interview with their new "Title" holder
4. No walk-in of main event?
5. Announcers don't know the 8 fighters name?
