He didn't tatoo "Evan Tanner is a Dead Asshole" on his chest, nor did he walk to the cage burning an effigy of Obama that said "Fuck President Purple Lips". If people don't see the precedent that's set by a company reaching into someone's personal life and dictating what they can and cannot say than this country has hit rock bottom.

worshiping presidents is shameful, and obama is indeed just another rich well educated man in a suit just like all others(excpet for bush which wasnt well educated at all).

Im not really surprised that so many people hate on War Machine, but i have to admit I agree with a lot of what he says. He might not say it in the most elegant way, but there is a lot of truth in his rants.

I hold two jobs, one which I'm conveniently able to post on cp from intermittently. I don't come to work drunk off my ass, I don't harass the customers, and I comport myself well among the customers, my co-workers and higher-ups. That's where my loyalty and responsibility to the company ends, and that's how it should be. To say that a company you work for should be able to stalk you on the internet and make sure you only say things they approve of is a real dangerous fucking statement, bitch tits.

My managers are always saying.. "what you do outside of the company affects you here". In fact the last guy that had my job got fired for getting too many dui's. Anyone who works for a major corporation cannot just go on myspace or facebook and say whatever they want. It reflects poorly on the company. It's up to them how they want to monitor, discipline ect. For example, if I went on my facebook and posted pictures of me smoking a blunt or even talking about drugs and the wrong person saw it I'd be out the door.

Also, do we really know why he got the boot for a fact or are we just taking wm's word for it? I'd take anything this guy says with a grain of salt. Regardless, everyone has the right to free speech and all but if you work for someone and you do something that they feel reflects badly on them they also have the right to do what they feel is necessary for the good of the company. MMA is still struggling for mainstream acceptance so if an org. identifies a fighter has being a poor representative of the sport or their organization then they should be able to respond accordingly. I don't see what the big deal is. The guy is a toolbag and is always running his mouth and making an ass of himself, so why should anyone want to keep him around?

Don't get my wrong, I'm not saying that corporations shouldn't have rights to defend their interests, and if War Machine was doing something illegal or got arrested for doing something illegal, that's a whole different story. I too concede that he may not be filling us in on the whole situation, but if it is as he says and that he got fired with NO WARNING for something he SAID to his personal cadre of fans and friends, than that is bullshit.

Your argument is pretty good, but you have to understand that duis and sexual harassment suits, smoking weed and the like are way different than someone having harsh, poorly constructed opinions and voicing them on shitty teeny bopper websites, it's not like he was at a pre or post fight conference when he said these things, either. I just want people to consider the ramifications of this situation, if true.
