Fight of the Day: Ray Sefo vs. Mark Hunt

You may have heard stories about Mark Hunt and his legendary granite chin, but unless you go back and watch some of his old K-1 fights, you’ll never truly understand. The Super Samoan’s decision loss to fellow New Zealander Ray Sefo at the K-1 World GP 2001 in Fukuoka, Japan, was a slugfest for the ages, in which Hunt repeatedly invited Sugarfoot Sefo to haul off at his face, and absorbed point-blank right hooks and axe kicks without so much as a flinch. Sefo may have gotten the nod from the judges that night, but Hunt was far from beaten. "You never got me down, Ray" indeed.

When i watched the video of him fighting Fedor, he was beating him until Fedor got him on his back...Mark was controlling him on the ground, and was never rocked on his feet....i was sad when Fedor beat him, because he was winning on the judges cards for sure...

And i also like the "city" of Japan......lol....moron

Well One Two, you gotta take into account that he's a lot older now, in horrible shape, and probably hardly trains these days if not at all. You can have a granite chin but when you're not training and you get hit in the chin chasing a guy... well let's just say we all saw what happens. Mark's competitive days are long gone, been gone for a good 3-4 years. He probably just takes fight for the pay cheque. But still a legend to me.
