Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Fight of the Day: Velasquez vs. Constant

Is Cain Velasquez the future of the UFC’s heavyweight division? His AKA teammate Jon Fitch thinks so, and the rest of the MMA world will find out in less than a month when he takes on Brad Morris at UFC 83. In the meantime, do some scouting by watching this December 2006 clip from Bodog Fight: St. Petersburg, which shows Velasquez’s second pro fight against Jeremiah Constant. We suggest watching the first four seconds (huh huh), then skipping to the start of the fight at 5:15. Morris might not roll over like Constant did, but the dude definitely seems to have potential…

You know a fighter is fucked when he just goes for the same completely half ass takedown the whole time.

Well, all eleven people in the audience seemed to enjoy this fight.

Yeah, I'm hoping that was some sort of a "sponsored link" or some other BS - that really was the worst "fight" I've ever seen. That makes the Kimbo/Cantrell fight look like a Abu Dhabi championship event.

I may be eating my words here in about a month or so, but I saw absolutely nothing about this guy to make me believe he'd be the "future of the heavyweight" UFC... he fought a complete dough boy in this match, didn't or couldn't finish the fight when said doughy lump starts groveling at his feet two minutes into the round, and certainly didn't display anything out of the ordinary in terms of ground game or striking. In fact I was more impressed with Constant until he gased himself on a few submission attempts.

Poorest display I've ever seen by a fighter. W.T.F. "I shall blend with the canvas and attack his ankles when he draws nigh!" Jesus man if you're that freakin' winded just have your corner throw the towel, woulda saved him a few smacks and he might have made his shift at Dairy Queen.

He looks to have some potential in the IFL, but not the UFC, atleast definitely not any time soon.
