1.
Quinton Jackson
-
2.
Lyoto Machida
His fighting style and personality will never be exciting enough to land him a coaching gig on The Ultimate Fighter, but in his wins over top competition like Rich Franklin and B.J. Penn, and his hype-crushing choke-out of Rameau Sokoudjou, he’s proven himself to be a fighter too technically perfect to ever make a mistake. Nobody has figured out how to beat him yet. Maybe Rampage could overwhelm him - maybe not.

3.
Chuck Liddell
-
4.
Forrest Griffin
He might be too unpolished to be champion quite yet. But time and time again, Forrest Griffin has displayed unparalleled heart and an admirable willingness to take abuse. His shocking choke-out of Mauricio “Shogun” Rua at UFC 76 proved that he can hang on an elite level. Underestimate this man at your own peril.

Keith Jardine

Thiago Silva

8.
Vladimir Matyushenko
If not for a decision loss to Tito Ortiz at UFC 33 in 2001, he would have been the UFC’s light-heavyweight champion. Instead, “The Janitor” found his way to the IFL, where he went on a 5-0 killing spree and took the title there. Unfortunately, without higher-caliber competition, we don’t see Matyushenko going much higher on this list.

9.
Wanderlei Silva

Antonio Rogerio Nogueira

there is no way that forrest griffin should be number four. Aside from shogun he hasnt really beat anyone. Honestly he lost to Tito. He doesnt have the knockout power to even be considered a top light heavy.

chunk, you’re a retard. Forrest should’ve give the W on the fight against Tito.
On the other hand, what the f is Chuck still doing at #3?
March 18th, 2008 at 12:21 am
Liddell is way too high on this list. He should be 7-10 at best.
I hate seeing Forest at 4, but can’t honesly support moving him down. Shogun and Thiago Silva are better fighters than he is, but the bastard keeps winning. Can’t fault him for the fights he hasn’t lost yet, I guess…

Hey, its not all about technique and looking pretty. Forrest has that spirit that won’t let him quit or lay down in a fight. Heart goes a long way in anything.

Who has Vladimir beaten in the IFL to warrant an 8th place ranking? at light heavyweight I mean in the IFL? because I’m clueless as hell at how it is done?

It’s safe to say that EVERYBODY HATES JARDINE. The guy beats Forrest and Chuck and yet gets ranked lower than them??? That makes absolutely no sense and I challenge anyone to argue that.
These 205 rankings suck. The only logical rankings are Sherdog.com’s and MMAweekly’s

im with Perkedel, Forrest is an animal who can stand and bang it out and loves it. the guy is a born fighter with a huge heart. I dont like Jardine but a win is a win… even though that style he used to beat Chuck i still cant understand.

Jardine being ranked lower than Liddell and Griffin makes absolutely no sense. I would like for someone to try to logically explain that.
Also, Machida would crush Rampage. It’s only a matter of time before he gets a title shot, and no matter who’s the champion, Machida’s going to beat them.
