1.Georges St. Pierre
-
2.Matt SerraIf "The Terror" loses to GSP on April 19th and then Matt Hughes in their delayed grudge-match, we’re willing to admit that he might have been a flash in the pan. But Matt Serra was the man who dethroned the most talented fighter in the world, and even if St. Pierre was having a bad night (as he’s claimed), it’s an undeniable achievement. In such an incredibly stacked division, the UFC’s welterweight champ can’t rank lower than #2.

3.Matt Hughes
-
4.Jon FitchIt looks like Fitch will get his long-awaited title shot after Serra and St. Pierre settle their grudge in Montreal, but at UFC 82, Chris Wilson made him look like he may not quite be ready for it. Still, who else deserves it more — that fight-dodging Karo Parisyan? You don’t rack up a 15-fight win streak unless you’re made of championship material.
-
5.Hayato Sakurai
-
6.Jake ShieldsFor all intents and purposes, Shields is EliteXC’s welterweight champion. His current nine-fight win-streak includes victories over big names like Yushin Okami and Carlos Condit, and he’s also put guys like Hayato Sakurai and Akira Kikuchi to bed. Keep watching this dude.

7.Shinya Aoki

8.Karo Parisyan
-
9.Diego Sanchez
-
10.Carlos Condit, Nick ThompsonUnfortunately, this deadlock won’t be broken until one of them faces Top 10 competition, or one of them loses — neither of which are likely scenarios.

Canuck Says:
How is Sanchez on this list??
Dumb Canuck Says:
Sanchez is on the list, at #9. Maybe your glasses are dirty and you can't see Sanchez, because of the dirt...dirty sanchez, get it?
Buddha Says:
He said how IS he, not how ISN'T he. I'd say someones dumb, but its not the Canuck.
The Bloc Says:
maybe it's you who need to get his glasses cleaned, cuz he asked "How is Sanchez ON this list??" i dont see any "not".
that aside i think sanchez deserve to be on the list, with a 18-2.
what about Koscheck? i hate that idiot Parisyan...get his ass off that list and put Koscheck instead :P(oh it's not a "which fighter you like the most" list?)
The Bloc Says:
(was talkin to dumb canuck, didnt see you posted before i did :P)
Canuck Says:
Yeah i was thinking how Sanchez could be there ahead of Koscheck
Got it anyway Says:
Misread or not, dumby was going for the joke. Dirty sanchez. Funny stuff. Now, how to work Koscheck and Cleveland Steamer into the same sentence...
dru_down Says:
I think Diego should be ahead of Karo and I think that he needs to keep fighting people on this list or have a rubber match with Koscheck already. Enough of these warm up bullshit fights. He already beat Karo and barely lost to Fitch by split decision.
Alex Says:
Is it just me but how did Koscheck not make this list lol he is easily a top 5 welterweight...after beating sanchez he lost a tough fought decision against st pierre and TKO'd D. hazlett on the other hand d sanchez lost another fight after koscheck against fitch and then beats a scrub and he makes the top 10 wut logic is that?
