Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Finally, Strikeforce Fighters and LL Cool J Come Together to Make TV Magic

You know that show "NCIS: Los Angeles," right? No, it’s not the one where David Caruso takes off his sunglasses over and over. That’s "CSI: Miami." And it’s not the one with Lt. Dan from “Forrest Gump.” That’s "CSI: NY." And it definitely isn’t the one with Scott Baio and the chick from "Baywatch." That was "Charles in Charge" and sadly it’s been gone for some time now. No, "NCIS" is the one with LL Cool J and a bunch of cameos from Strikeforce fighters who mostly mill around in the background. At least, that’s what this promo would have me believe.

CBS’s latest genius idea (let’s not forget this work of art) to promote the upcoming Strikeforce event in Nashville on April 17 is to take a bunch of fighters and stick them in a show that’s normally about, I don’t know, solving crimes or something. But hey, if "News Radio" could work in an MMA storyline, any show can.

Obviously we’re just getting a brief glimpse of the promotional power CBS can bring to bear when it wants to, and for all we know Dan Henderson has a moving monologue in the final act that isn’t featured prominently in this commercial, but from what we’re seeing here it’s “Big” John McCarthy who’s the real winner. Everyone else stands on the outside cheering, basically reduced to being extras, while he gets what is, technically at least, a speaking role.

Nicely done, “Big” John. And people said those years at Julliard were a waste.

"I don't know the numbers but I would be willing to bet that M1 is getting more money than they deserve out of this deal."

That has been confirmed. M1 Global is in fact getting paid. I don't know the exact numbers either, but i know it's more than a dollar. Case closed.

First it seems like every fighter is appearing in some straight to DVD crap movie, Then TMZ is breaking MMA news and now fighters appearing in crappy TV shows with washed up rappers. Who or what must I sacrifice to the MMA gods to make this STOP !!

I'm glad Cung Le didn't cross his arms like all the other conformists.

Well I must say I am surprised. It looks much more gay than the time Tito and Randy were in a movie with a midget, and Jet Li. I will say this tho. Strikefarce has the backing of CBS and Showtime so hey who knows what can happen? I still believe its only a matter of time before m1 gets too greedy and then CBS terminates the deal. I don't know the numbers but I would be willing to bet that M1 is getting more money than they deserve out of this deal. Maybe we should start a pool and make bets to see how long it takes for M1 to suck Strikefarce dry like Pride and Affliction, bodog? I give it two years tops total. I mean hey they already had to renegotiate based on what Coker called cultural differences?? WTF!! What you all think?

How dare you criticize News Radio. We lost that show much earlier than we should have.

Seriously, that show was great. The UFC may not have ended up with the only legitimate commentating in the sport without News Radio giving Rogan the exposure that it did; let's pick our battles more wisely.

This had all the feel and production value of an after school special, they couldn't get a couple of those guys to take the place of the lame "actor/fighters" in the show.

How about Nate fighting like Nick against Markham......I think he learned his lesson with the Maynard fight(not weight related) not to simply outstrike a guy, but to hurt him and finish him.

Fucking Gay! Coker can burn in hell for this bullshit. He isn't doing the sport any favors with this Hollywood bullshit.

Hey, props to Scott Coker for doing what he gotta do to earn that green.

But damn that's cheesy son.
