I know the article was less about fitch and more about some of the past title shots that made us scratch are heads and say "what the fuck?" but if we are really talking about what Fitch needs to do to get a title shot, the only thing necessary is finish a damn fight. Getting a KO, or a submission may seem much more convincing to many, but to pull the 'unanimous decision' is at times even more work. Instead of a single referee to make the call, you are reliant on 3 individuals speaking from the same page.

Kos got a rematch because he started to knock and or choke people out instead of just wrestling. Florian gets title shots against different people (not rematches) and tends to finish all of his fights that aren't for a title.

Fitch is the same guy he was the last time he got dominated. If he started to evolve and become more dangerous, or if anyone other than GSP had the belt, then he should totally get another shot. Until then he has to settle with making damn good money, traveling, getting free shit, and laying on his hot girlfriend.
