You would think that if you were awaiting trial for assaulting your ex-wife you might try your best to…I don’t know…NOT GET ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT?!
It seems that Floyd Mayweather Jr. thinks that money and fame excuses him from playing by society’s rules.
The Associated Press is reporting that the WBA welterweight boxing champ was allegedly involved in another incident this morning in Las Vegas in which he laid his hands, more specifically his fingers on a security guard in his gated community after the official began writing him parking tickets for a number of vehicles that were unlawfully parked on the street outside “Pretty Boy Floyd’s” home.
Police say that Mayweather became enraged when the the security officer refused to tear up the tickets and began repeatedly and aggressively poking the guard in his face.
When police showed up at his house Mayweather refused to speak with them, so a report was taken and was submitted to the Clark County district attorney’s office where the DA will decide whether or not to proceed with charges.
According to the victim, Mayweather has disregarded numerous warnings from the community’s homeowners association about parking outside of his home.
“Mr. Mayweather became agitated and came out of his house,” attending officer, Marcus Martin said. “When the guard rolled down the window, he poked the security guard in the face with his finger several times, according to the security officer.”
Martin said that when officers arrived at the house and requested that Mayweather come outside to talk with them, the boxer told them through the closed door that he “wouldn’t talk with them and wished them a good night.”
Mayweather, who is due in Las Vegas court to answer felony coercion, grand larceny and robbery charges stemming from a Sept. 9 dispute in which he is alleged to have assaulted his former spouse and threatened their children, could now face additional misdemeanor charges of battery and uttering threats.
He failed to show up for court earlier this month, which, coupled with his refusal to co-operate with police who were investigating today’s incident may not bode well for him in court as they demonstrate a certain amount of disregard for the law and the court.
Floyd really seems to be going to great lengths to avoid fighting Manny Pacquiao.
