Hitchen's was just one of many...many who claim to stand against totalitarianism...in his case he called an ace - a ace, and a spade, just that.
.
I was surprised to see his name mentioned here too, and even more surprised to see that there are others who aligned with his views.
.
Yet, fuck him. Esophageal cancer - with pneumonia in the end. Better him than me. BIG GRIN

@RwilsonR - Hitchen's acquired ample income, so I guess he had no need to have to bend his views for others.

True, Hitchens often "...just pointed out the problems he saw in other people..." Yet, I suppose you would rather sit there, and say nothing?
.
We know that's not true about you, as you talk as much shit as the next man.
.
You pointed and summarize this now rotting fucker as a lonely alcoholic elitist - yet, like most, you probably never met him in person, or didn't know he was married with 3 kids.

I'm not very familiar with Hitchens, but I've watched a lot of his stuff on youtube today, and I can definitely see how people can relate to his stance. We live in a bizarre world where we have to feign respect to the most absurd superstitions. However, dedicating ones life to combating this is probably not the best way to make friends...

The sad thing about Hitchens is the sad thing about most curmudgeonly critics... though brilliant with language, they aren't necessarily brilliant in life, just in pointing out the problems they see in other people. So he burnt so many bridges and pissed on so many other people that he was basically a lonely alcoholic elitist, who at least had enough wit to recognize his own effete misery. Tried to mend some fences in the last few years after the cancer diagnosis, and luckily had some people in his life who were better men than he and accepted him back. Sad to me that kind of life is revered simply because he could spew some very stinging prose. Not that I'm a huge fan of TR, but there is something to that whole,"it's not the critic who counts..." thing that I think guys like Hitchens could learn a thing or two from. Still, the man could certainly string a sentence together.

Why are you linking to a poorly written pro-wrestling blog? Blackmail?

Mike Tyson is amazingly lucid and vivid in his expressions for a man who's taken about a million strikes to the head and used God knows how much drugs. Just gotta love this guy.

Serious props to CagePotato for giving Christopher Hitchens a link. Truly one of the greatest writers in human history, and he will be sorely missed. If you don't know who he is, take some time to watch some of his videos and debates on YouTube, and after you fall in love, give some of his articles a read. To reach god-mode, read his books.

RIP Hitch, RIP.
