I've hung from Dana's nuts for years. I've purchased UFC PPVs and DVDs for years and recognize his pivotal role in promoting the best individual sport (as opposed to team sport) on Earth. And I'm grateful for it. I don't think Dana deserves much of any of the adolescent criticism he gets.

But he's naive and wrong on this one. He hasn't learned from the record labels' mistakes. And he hasn't recognized what the internet is.

The internet is indeed a force of nature and if he doesn't come to terms with it he will drag the UFC into obscurity over time. The internet is changing the world similarly to how the printing press did, but more rapidly. It will bring down governments and restructure our world, Dana. Your pissy little efforts won't change that.

But it gets your product out there and makes fans- That builds your base and THAT winds up paying you money in the future by orders of magnitude... That is part of the internet that the UFC should embrace and not try to crush...

Now if streamers are making Money off of the UFC product.. That is indeed piracy and IMO the UFC can and should go after people who are scalping their product...

However they need to get a grip on the fact that their product is very expensive, and during a time where we have 30 million unemployed- people are not going to always have a spare $100 a month to blow.

That coupled with the product they sell on their UFC streaming website is really not up to par for its 50 dollar price tag.. I have gotten a few from them.. and I am not really impressed- almost feel cheated in fact- If they could make it steady standard Definition it would be worth $15-$25 bucks... easy though...

Tells me that they need to concentrate more on their end to produce a quality product that is easily accessible to more people.

I mean WTF are they going to do... SUE the poor saps who uploaded the stream for 40 million dollars??

Like those people would have that money... and like it would stop the streams...
