According to a Sports Illustrated report, MMA’s most maligned play-by-play commentator Gus Johnson is leaving CBS to work for Fox.
Not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that the UFC bought Strikeforce and UFC president Dana White has made no secret of the fact that he doesn’t care for Johnson’s fight calling abilities and as such it seemed unlikely that GuJo would be included in their vision of business as usual .
Maybe this is a sign that CBS may be revisiting its relationship with Strikeforce under the new Zuffa regime, or maybe one has nothing to do with the other, but at least there’s hope now that the lipstick-sporting, reporter-calling, Renzo Gracie blue belt has left the network, that if they can come to terms, we won’t ever have to hear Gus proclaiming things like Seth Petruzelli beating Kimbo Slice is the greatest upset in MMA history on network television.
Johnson’s last gig with the network will be his calling of the Showtime pay-per-view broadcast of the Manny Pacquiao-Shane Mosley bout, but after that fans may never see his make-up aden mug during another MMA broadcast.

And honestly, do any of you watch college basketball? Gus Johnson's commentary makes a lotta of those games. What's ridiculous is that the network would want to let him go. MMA's one thing, but people love that guy during the March madness games.
Exactly! that was the key phrase for me that made me immediatlly hate this guy. Seriously. Kimbo Fucking Slice. What the fuck was he on? what the hell is he constantly on to wear lipstick like that? Maybe he needs some of Chael Sonnens Testi-Replace-Therapy.

Yes! I watched the last SF live and at first I thought he was having a laugh/self depricating by going over the top on the tranny make-up but than I came to realize that to him there was absolutely nothing amiss about an MMA sportscaster looking like Ru-Paul. Add that to the Anderson Silva vs Cung Li comment?...A dangerously deranged creature.

That was referring to kimbo/seth "upset" right? If someone were less lazy than me and went to the trouble of compiling both of their resumes and looking at the fight on paper, that statement becomes even more hilarious. Despite not being a top fighter seth actually has an abundant amount of combat sports experience. He started training martial arts at like 7 years old, wrestled in highschool, starting fight pro right after highschool, has a bunch of grappling experience and accomplishments, lots of pro fights.. apparently him beating a guy who's mma resume is "beat up some random people in parking lots and back yards" is the biggest upset in histroy.. lol
I still think Frank Mir was one of the best commentators. He is extremely knowledgeable and speaks well. His running analysis of the fight as it was taking place seemed very accurate. I was bummed when he got himself in trouble and lost that gig for WEC. IMO the only person that can match that is Pat Miletich. I think he is also well spoken and definitely knows what he is talking about. I hope they plan on keeping him.
Kenny Florian gets an honorable mention from me for his ability to instantly translate Portuguese corner instructions. I don't even remember who was fighting I just thought that kicked ass.
thats not even the funniest one. when i saw the riddler pics i thought they were fake too, but they arent. maybe someone can hook you up in here if you havent seen them.
