That shot against Bisping always makes me happier than almost anything in the world... so happy that I question my moral character. Regardless, the only thing that would be better than that gif would be a gif of the same thing, but with the British wig flying off.
Hendo was also dominated by Rampage back in 2007 and was beaten, in my opinion, by Rich Franklin in his return to 205. Yeah, maybe Hendo wasn't 100% going into the Shields fight, but he still got his ass kicked by a welterweight with zero striking.
For the record, I'm pulling for hendo big time. I would love to see the ol man with the lhw title, just as much as I'd love to see Jones smashed. I hope he wins, I just don't think he will.
@realdeal75 His fight with Shogun was at 205, and he was hanging on for dear life the last 2 rounds. I think is gas tank is very questionable at any weight, especially against someone with the ability to take him down and keep him there. You'd think he'd be pretty hard to take down to begin with, but his aggressive striking style leaves him open. I think the game plan will be to shoot when he starts throwing hands, put him on the ground, and wear him down. I think it will work too.
A lot of people keep on bringing up the Jake Shields fight as a guideline for the fight with Jones, which is ridiculous. That fight was at Middleweight and Hendo had a terrible cut to make the weigh, and had a back injury which he disclosed before the fight. He still almost got Shields out of there in the 1st! I think this is an even fight that could go either way but I'm rooting for the old man!!
I seem to remember Hendo being dubbed the fighter who was perfectly designed to defeat Anderson Silva as well. I don't see this going much differently than the Silva fight. Hendo is a tough dude with experience and knockout power but I just don't see him winning this fight. Most guys who got caught by that right were staying in the pocket like Wanderlei or making poor footwork decisions like Bisping. I don't see Jones doing either of those things.
The problem with Hendo is that he sucks off of his back. Not really in a technical sense, but every time he gets taken down his poor cardio shows. His fights with shields and shogun are good examples. You get him on his back and keep him there, he will gas quickly. Jones will do just that. I don't think striking will be a factor.
Still don't understand how Bisping let himself get caught with the H-Bomb. Hendo threw it at least 10 times in the first round and a half. All The Cunt's corner kept saying in between rounds was "don't circle left; watch out for his right" and what does he do? Circles left, throwing weak ass jabs along the way.
If Jake Shields can survive the H-Bomb and kick the shit outta Hendo for four rounds, I guess I don't see Bones having much of a problem doing the same. Just sayin'.
If Jake Shields, the welterweight with zero striking, was one of the survivors, then I like Jones' chances. I mean, only because he's one of the most dynamic strikers in the world with the longest reach in UFC history.
Although I agree with the oddsmakers that have Hendo at a huge disadvantage, I am praying that they are wrong. I love Hendo, probably my favorite fighter of ALL TIME. However, Jones size and reach advantage are just going to be too much and Hendo's ONLY way to win this fight is the H-bomb. I will still be cheering my balls off hoping he beats Bone's ass. I pray for a KO that makes everyone completely forget about Bisping.
