Gina Carano to Appear at Comic-Con 2011 Next Friday to Promote ‘Haywire’

On July 21-24, Comic-Con 2011 will set up at the San Diego Convention Center for a nerd-tastic orgy of comic books (obviously), video games, action films, and at least one nightmare-inducing cosplay pageant. If you plan on attending next weekend, keep in mind that MMA star/actress Gina Carano will be in the building on Friday, July 22nd, as part of a sneak-preview of her long-delayed film Haywire. The presentation will go down from 12:15-1:15 PST in Hall H, if that means anything to you.

According to Carano’s manager Scott Karp, the former “Face of Women’s MMA” is “starting to feel better” following her mysterious withdrawal from Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum, and may soon know about her fighting future. She is currently fielding several film offers.

Haywire was originally scheduled to hit theaters in January of this year. After some re-shoots and delays, the flick is now slated for a January 20, 2012, release.

Expectjesusbro has the audacity to slander Gina Carano I got one thing to say to you , as I now stoop to your level, just becouse your a worthles,unattractive, sorry excuse for a human being with an I.Q. of 71 doesn't help your pathetic life to bad mouth a person period. But since you picked "Gina Carano" not only am I sure she could care less what you say about her You now have me to worry about just becouse it's the internet doesn't mean I can't destroy your life. Gina has a friend called biohazard who happens to know internet forensics and is an ex felon for not putting these skills to good use so if you got somthing to say I suggest you choose your words wisely as I can see everthing anyone does on the internet let alone track them down.

At first I looked forward to seeing this movie. After all the bullshit delays I could care less when it finally comes out. I wont be spending any money to watch it. That's for sure.

Between the ads in the comments, the captcha and the new hovering ad bullshit I saw today, that I had to fucking chase down to close, its starting to make this site not worth the bother.

Soderbergh is such an overrated director and Traffic is the worst film to ever win an Oscar. Shit sucked. Hard. The Girlfriend Experience was okay, but only because of Sasha Grey. OTOH, Comic Con is about the best time you can have while not cageside. I'll be there, although I'll skip the Haywire meet and greet. Game of Thrones cast, though, I'll be there for that. Can't wait.

How does Steven Soderbergh keep getting money to make shitty movies with fringe celebrities like Gina Carano and Sasha Gray as the lead performers? I liked Che, but everything else the guy has done since Traffic pretty much sucked outloud, and this isn't looking like it'll be the exception.
