Gross Injury of the Day: Rony Jason Snaps Gasparzinho’s Arm on ‘TUF Brazil’ [VIDEO]

(The ouchie comes at the 1:56 mark.)

In case you haven’t been keeping up with The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil — and sure, I’m one of those people — Team Wanderlei finally got its first victory on Sunday’s episode, after losing the first five quarterfinal matches to Team Vitor. Featherweight Rony “Jason” Mariano Bezerra put the Axe-Murderers on the board with a first-round submission win over Anistavio “Gasparzinho” Medeiros de Figueiredo, who proved why it’s rarely a good idea to slam your way out of an armbar. Jason will now meet Hugo “Wolverine” Viana in the featherweight semis.

The arm-snappage led to a shouting match between the coaches, which you can check out after the jump. If you understand Portuguese, please enlighten us with a summary…

@Mauro Dos Santos: Yep, I agree Vitor is full of shit. He is so fake always god this god that and then makes 2 friends fight and then lies about not knowing there relationship.

The episodes are linked on with subtitles. Does CP not realize that?

I blame Yamasaki.

Oh and, in case you didn´t notice, first Vitor was like "oh but even if they are friends they have to fight each other", then he change his mind and said "oh but i didnt know they were friends (BS)" and finally he was like "oh but it really wasnt my choice, my coaching staff decided it"...

@Yusana and @LoneWolf -- thank you for the enlightenment, otherwise I just would have thought it was another tap refusal leading to a snap. Seriously, I appreciate the insight.

@LoneWolf: Thanks for all that info! I haven't been watching, so I didn't know all that backstory...

@BG: Not a problem!

I agree with LoneWolf. TUF Brazil is miles ahead of this season of the regular TUF.

@Yusana - my bad for the repeat! Didn't realize you basically gave the synopsis before my rant on how awesome Tuf Brazil is.
LoneWolf- May 10, 2012 at 7:52 am
Thats pathetic. CP nation should be watching me it's what the TUF show used to be. Great fights/rivalries and honest fighter stories. I think its one of the best tough shows yet....these kids really give a shit and you see how much this opportunity means for them. You(CP) forgot one of the most important parts of the show....Jason and “Gasparzinho” are actually really good friends and have trained together for a long time. Which is why the team and Wand was so pissed at the end of the fight, saying that you (Vitor) didn't have to make the fight happen we should have waited till the finally, you had other options. And now look what happened, not only did they have to fight, your coaches kept telling him not to tap because he could get out of the Arm bar (that arm bar was really tight)......then it happened he snap his arm because of bad coaching from Vitor's side. Vitor is fucked up. WATCH the show...its way better than Tuff on fox especially each of these kids and their stories.

Then after what Yusana explained, Wandy said "excuse me, I need to go feed my bus a carrot."
Yusana- May 10, 2012 at 6:41 am
(First of all, pardon me for my english):

What happened is that "Jason" and "Gasparzinho" were long time friends and trained together before the show. They said from the beginning that they didn't want to fight each other even if they were on different teams.

Despite of all, Belfort Team chose "Gasparzinho" to fight with Jason. After the fight, Wanderlei blame Belfort for the choice and said that the injury happened because both friends couldn't "concentrate" in it (they weren't into it). Wand kept repeating "Are you happy now? He told me he didn't want to fight!"

Then, Wanderlei said that Belfort did this because he never had any friends and I couldn't agree more.
