MMA Video Tribute: 9 ‘Falling Tree’ Knockouts

Heads-Up: ‘Sengoku X’ Airs Late Tonight on HDNet

If you’re one of the lucky few who still gets HDNet — go fuck yourself, Time Waner Cable! — why don’t you go ahead and set your DVR for the live broadcast of Sengoku 10, which goes down late tonight at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT. Though there isn’t much star power on the card, the show will feature Antonio Silva, Nick Thompson, Dan Hornbuckle, and a headlining bout between two fighters making their MMA debuts: Olympic Judoka Hiroshi Izumi and New Zealand kickboxing champion Antz Nansen. The lineup is below (props to BloodyElbow):

LHW: Hiroshi Izumi (debut) vs. Antz Nansen (debut)
HW: Antonio Silva (12-1) vs. "Big" Jim York (11-2)
WW: Makoto Takimoto (5-5) vs. Jae Sun Lee (2-3)
LW: Kazunori Yokota (9-2-3) vs. Ryan Schultz (20-11-1)
LHW: Ryo Kawamura (10-4-2) vs. Fabio Silva (11-5)
WW: Nick Thompson (38-11-1) vs. Dan Hornbuckle (18-2)
MW: Joe Doerksen (42-12) vs. Takenori Sato (9-6-4)
LW: Maximo Blanco (3-2-1, 1 NC) vs. Tetsuya Yamada (3-1)

Opening Fights (Untelevised)
LW: Ikuo Usuda (5-0) vs. Woo Hyun Baek (1-0)
FW: Shigeki Osawa (3-0) vs. Ki Hyun Kim (pro debut)
BW: Ryosuke Komori (4-1) vs. Jae Hyun So (2-6)

Speaking of Bigfoot Silva, the American Top Team heavyweight standout says that he’s been weighing offers from multiple American MMA organizations since his steroid suspension in California came to an end on July 27th. Said Silva: "Right now, I can’t say which ones, but real soon, everyone will know." He still wants to fight Josh Barnett later this year in Japan.

Well... C-Level card but it's MMA, isn't? Hope Pezão keeps the good streak to face Barnett at NYE event.

Dan Hornbuckle (18-2) is awesome and should be in the UFC or atleast in the TUF house. I used to watch him doing in Hammond, IN. Very explosive and aggressive fighter.

Here's an idea. How's about CP writes a blog entry the following morning with all the embedded videos (from some sketchy Czech video hosting website that loads even slower than CagePotato's website). Thompson vs Hornbuckle get's top-billing in my opinion.

Hey, Nick. Have you seen my hat anywhere? The one with the big feather... goes really nice with the cane with the $ sign on it? Oh, you lost yours too. Shame, it would have gone nice with that.

MMA fans need their own television broadcast platform ... we could pay the Pride lady to stand atop a mountain and scream Japanese play by play across the land.
