Heads Up: “UFC Primetime” Returns Tonight, With Some Much-Needed Matt Serra Magic

Now this is more like it.  Dan Hardy and Georges St. Pierre alone might lend themselves too easily to pre-packaged storylines, but Matt Serra is a born freakin’ entertainer over here.  This clip is forty seconds long and still he manages to do/say more interesting things than either Hardy or GSP managed in the entirety of the first episode.  You gotta love the guy for that.  It’s almost enough to make me want to watch this one live instead of on my DVR tomorrow morning while eating leftover Chinese food and nursing a severe hangover.  Almost.

Just in case this short clip isn’t enough entertainment to make the afternoon pass more swiftly, follow me after the jump for some totally gratuitous old school Wanderlei Silva ass-kicking action.  There’s no real reason for it.  Except that it’s awesome.

On this week's UFC Primetime episode, I gotta admit, it was pretty damn badass to learn that Hardy's been training in Tae Kwon Do since he was a kid and he went to train with Shaolin monks for two months. How awesome is that? Those vintage videos of him training over there was cool.

Unfortunately, GSP is just gonna wrestle the shit out of Hardy. Hardy has lazy takedown defense.

like what matt hughes said in their TUF series, serra has the " little guy complex " which means he talks BIG to compensate for his height. i know a guy at work who sounds and acts exactly like him and stands 5'4 or so. cocky sob.

I noticed two things in that video. First; Wanderlei did not have his infamous head tattoo (meaning this video is fucking old). Second; his nose was already fucking smashed in. Look at the end in his interview, how long did he live as a mouth breather? Creepy...

As much as I like Hardy and his punchers chance in this fight, he is in big trouble in little UK. I am not a huge GSP fan but his approach to training and his genetic given skills will not be beat again at 170. The new phenomenon, it is not enough to dominate and clear out a weight class, you also have to be bad enough to move up and challenge 15 pounds heavier. Good luck everyone. New regulations coming as regards to cutting weight and the weigh in procedures in general. Monsta.

I don't think he's looking to learn anything from Serra, he just wants to be SEEN with Serra. Even though GSP wrecked Serra the second time, I bet losing that first time still stings a bit, even if doesnt, at some point it DID, and Dan Hardy knows that.

I can appreciate the angle, but I don't think it will sufficiently rattle GSP at all. If thats that intent at least.

I still think Hardy is going to end up getting grounded and pounded Tito's Wife'd this entire fight.

Wtf is Matt Serra going to teach Hardy? he doesn't have time to overhaul his Ju-Jitsu skills, and you can't really teach how to luck out with a left hook. Hardy is an idiot, he's almost asking to get thrown down and humiliated.

GSP by greasy knees to the kidneys on the ground. While Hardy sits in the doggy style position looking like a little biznitch. Round 3. You heard it hear folks.
