10 Legendary MMA Fighters You've Probably Never Heard Of

Heath Herring on Brock Lesnar, UFC Title Shots, and Why You Shouldn’t Even Pretend to Kiss Him

In this MMA Rated interview with Heath Herring, he makes it plain that he is not expecting a new and improved Brock Lesnar at UFC 87 this Saturday night. He also seems to think it’s funny that Frank Mir will fight for the heavyweight title next after beating Lesnar, while he beat Cheick Kongo and somehow ends up taking a step back. Maybe the fact that he’s already been beaten three times by the reigning champ played a part in that decision.

Never one to miss a chance at a light-hearted ending (see also: How’s taste my pee-pee-pee and How’s taste my big pee-pee), Ariel Helwani just has to revisit Herring’s infamous staredown knockout of Yoshihiro Nakao at the end of this interview. Herring laughs it off, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t serious about not wanting to be kissed. Just ask Nakao.

Do you guys see that Brock Lesnar hits harder than ANY heavyweight in the UFC... toe to toe, no one will want to trade with him in the future, but when it goes to the ground he drops the bombs and it gets worse. Lesnar is a legitimate fighter and it sounds like everyone here has written off his wrestling skills... four time all Americans and multiple ncaa championships do not come along every day.

Dear John,
how can you call anyone immature if you spell it like an autism infected child? Why would you threaten someone over the internet, that quit being cool in elementary school. I'm just telling you that you shouldn't do that. Also, Forrest has worked hard to get where he's at. And there is no such thing as a paper champion in the UFC. How can you possibly go 5 rounds with Rampage Jackson and win and still not be respected?
But anyways, I think Lesnar has alot of potential in UFC. Especially if he keeps fighting top notch opponents. Because he'll either have to learn to fight or get his brains beat out.

Yeah ryan, they should give him bums so we can have another paper champ like forrest huh? I swear to go if i saw face to face i would spit in ur face and make u eat it. Its because of imature punks like you that corruption exists! Cant take the truth so you cheat? Bitch!

If brook needs lesser competition to make him look good he doesnt belong in the ufc. This aint the wwe kiddies, where your hero always wins. Brook gonna get ktfu and thats for sure.

@Suck Gracie's Ass
At least Brock "brings it and comes out to fight"?

what the fuck does that even mean? you give the guy kudos for making an appointment? all right. try to at least make a point rather than bullshit verbal fist pumping.

I disagree with that 100%. Part of the maturing process for any mixed martial artist is taking on fighters with equivalent experience and WINNING. He needs some wins to improve his game. It's one thing to spar and roll in a gym, another to have the experience of knocking someone out. UFC is handling this all wrong in my opinion, but then again they're probably banking on the fact Brock will lose, thus proving MMA>pro wrasslin'! Wow, shocker Dana.

brock is dope, at least he brings it and comes to fight, all you bitches bitching need to go back to watching wwe cause obviously it's your forte.
axhed- August 4, 2008 at 7:12 pm
if brock continues to fight high-caliber opponents, win or lose, his game will improve very quickly.
Xamot- August 4, 2008 at 6:39 pm
remember Brock, your abusive dad said it best, "Everybody likes a winner." repeat it like a bipolar mantra.
we will see- August 4, 2008 at 5:51 pm
I really don't think Heath should underestimate lesnor that much, even though it wasn't pretty Brock was handing it to Mir and you could tell that Frank wasn't having any fun. I'm not saying that Brock will beat heaths ass but it's not wise to think he's gonna be a walk in the park
Bootylam!- August 4, 2008 at 5:07 pm
Brock's fighting decent guys because he ran his mouth before stepping in the cage and now the UFC is trying to get him to prove it. Not as easy as wrestling, huh Brock?
ClownBaby- August 4, 2008 at 5:00 pm
Don't know if i speak for all clowns or not, but i think the problem wit Brock is that he is fighting at that level of competition already while being relatively unproven in MMA.

A lot of people have been bashing Brock Lesner and his MMA career. However I really have to hand it to him, he is not taking on tomato cans, Heath Herring is a really experienced heavy weight. Not like Kimbo who is fighting people who are know for soft chins. I like Heath and am looking forward to this fight. You have to give it to Brock though win or lose he is fighting some good competition.
