Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Hopefully This Is the Most Annoying ‘UFC Undisputed’ Video You’ll Ever See

(Props: MMA Scraps)

So we’re sending this guy to interview Dana White, but the guy isn’t really very likable or well-dressed or even remotely photogenic. What should we do? I know, let’s have him wear sunglasses inside and act like a total jerk. That will solve all out problems!

This, we can only assume, was the thought process behind this interview with Dana White to discuss the UFC’s “Undisputed 2010” video game. The result is predictably cloying, and all we really learn is that 2010 is better than its predecessor, which is a) sort of expected, and b) what DW would say even if it weren’t. Then, because this whole thing was apparently plotted by junior high students who only know one way to end a skit, it culminates in an act of fake violence. And what’s most disappointing?  Not one mention of the inclusion of Kimbo Slice haymakers.  What a missed opportunity.

The animations still don’t blend and make it look like an old Kung-Fu-movie where they’re executing one predefined move after another after another after another… so far, this looks like too little improvement after 1 year.

submissions were stupid in the first game...especially against the pc

Did they ever fix the submissions being impossible to pull off with a patch? That was my biggest bitch from the first.

Man, Roy Nelson sure lost a lot of weight.

@ Smitty

I can't tell if your being sarcastic or not lol. If not, I don't think a couple new submissions and some more fighters (Most of my fav's were in the last one anyways) will really do much. They need to get rid of the robotic feel. I had fun playing the last one when me and some friends were pre-drinking. That's about it. The career mode ended abruptly and I was very disappointed. Iunno like I said it's definitely worth a rent. Don't get me wrong.

As for the graphics, fuck that, the game is using the exact same engine as you can tell and it's nothing special. Maybe they've tweaked it a bit, but there's nothing noticeable by the average person from 09-10.

Im hoping a friend buys it and gets bored quick, so I can just borrow it for a month or two. Yeah... im that guy.

Not quite sure what the Potato was expecting with this interview, it is IGN after all. You can't always get the insightful ramblings of Costas and Simms all the time.

Whose nephew is that?

Is it just me or does the game look EXACTLY the same in those fight scenes? Sure, there's pushing against the cage and a transition from a Kimura to an armbar - that's all good and stuff. But the punches and kicks and most of the rest looks like there's no progress at all. The animations still don't blend and make it look like an old Kung-Fu-movie where they're executing one predefined move after another after another after another... so far, this looks like too little improvement after 1 year. And if they didn't fix the annoying manu-structure, they can kiss my azz anyway.

Not realistic at all...Swick did NOT tap in the real fight. I'm cancelling my pre-order.
Smitty- February 24, 2010 at 10:24 am
LockDown & Dazed are trippin. The new game has soooo many new features that make it 10 times better than the old one. You couldn't fight against the cage on the 2009 version. That's one of the best improvements IMO. There are more submissions, and as stated, you can fight southpaw now. They've also improved the graphics, which I didn't think was possible. Can't wait to play!

Dude... It's fucking night time... Tool

You can't spell "ignorant" without IGN.
LockDown- February 24, 2010 at 10:00 am
Well... I didn't realize any big difference between UFC Undisputed 2009/2010.
I hope they improve the career mode and some "robotic" motion from fighters.
DazedNConfused- February 24, 2010 at 9:58 am
I bought 2009. It was good. But had many holes. How can they release it without southpaws? boggled my mind. But yah, I don't think ill purchase this one. I will rent and see how it goes. It looks pretty much the same, and if I really go crazy over the rent I might buy. Knowing that there will be a 2011 UFC makes me not exactly want to throw down the 70$ for the game. Plus who knows, maybe EA's MMA game will be amazing or something. It's looking good, and Ive been a pretty big fan of Fight Night. Although Round 4 disappointed the crap out of me. Put a big MAYBE on UFC 2010 for this guuuy.

Why did they give Paulo epic man boobs?
netterbog- February 24, 2010 at 9:37 am
Anybody else notice how it looks more like Dana is going in for a kiss than about to throw a punch? The dude's post fade-to-black reaction is much richer viewed in that context.

I think they should throw that guy in with Anderson Silva next. I would enjoy watching the spider massacre that guy instead of Maia.

Please let the next trailer at least involve the Buffer two step, that would make this game well worth the price.
