Hot Potato: ‘Best of PRIDE’ Host Kenda Perez

With Spike TV’s The Best of Pride Fighting Championships set to kick off next Monday at 11 p.m. ET/PT (edit: premiere date has been changed to Friday, January 15 at 10 pm), it’s time to get acquainted with the show’s foxy host, Kenda Perez. Born in Laguna Beach, California, the Mexican-American model began drawing attention in 2007, when she earned a finalist spot in Maxim‘s "’Hometown Hotties" competition. Kenda has represented Maxim at various promotional events, once guest-starred on 1 vs. 100 as an ambassador for the mag, and has become a familiar face in the crowd at UFC events. Kenda Perez (born May 18) is the host of The Best of Pride compliation series on Spike. The Mexican-American model was featured as a "Hometown Hotties" finalist in the July 2007 issue of Maxim, which led to promotional and hosting work for the magazine. Kenda Perez hails from California, and is an avid snowboarder. For more pics of Kenda, click here.

More importantly though it's great they'll be airing old Pride fights. I loved Pride. I'd like to see more of those former fighters come over to the US and fight. They are realtively unknown to a lot of the US public and it's a shame because Japan has some of the most entertaining fighters in the game today. Hopefully this recap of some great fights will open up the audience's eyes to the rich talent pool in the far east and help them appreciate the ones we do have stateside even more.

I couldn't care less about the host of the show. I'm just glad to see the Pride footage. I'll probably ignore her just like I ignore Goldberg on Unleashed.

I'm hoping they don't use it just to hype the current UFC fighters and show fighters like Arona and Fedor.

Personally, I'm more excited about the fact that the UFC is putting Pride fights on Spike tthan about the chick hosting it. 'Bout time they started using that video library for something more than promoting fighters without much UFC footage.

Eh. I kind of feel like a troll because I'm about to say something negative about an obviously beautiful girl who I would get with without hesitation if she was anywhere close to my league......but yeah. She isn't all that great. No assets to speak of. Very plain looking. I guess I like them with a little something more. I will be watching without a doubt though. Pride was amazing and is missed greatly.
