(Alexander vs. Schafer; props to MMA Scraps)
From Yahoo! Sports via MMA Mania:
“The crowd was so loud that I couldn’t hear my corner. If I heard them and knew, you know, there are 10 seconds left, five seconds left, whatever, I would have tried to hung in there a little longer and survived. But it was so loud and these people were supporting me so much, I couldn’t hear and I had to tap.”
Hear that, Cornhuskers? It’s your fault.
Watching the Alexander/Schafer fight again, a few things occur to me…
— The first big knee Alexander caught Schafer with at the 0:20 mark was borderline illegal. The second one was absolutely illegal. Coincidentally, the penultimate strike he landed on Keith Jardine during their fight last May was also an illegal knee. The dude’s been getting away with murder.
— Alexander still has no idea what to do when he’s mounted. It may be time to find a new training camp. (I hear the guys at Wolfslair Academy are very friendly…)
— Houston’s lack of aptitude on the ground shouldn’t take away from Schafer’s accomplishment; that arm-choke was fucking superb. Watch the way he sets it up from 4:33 until the tap. Still, Red won’t have too much of an impact in such a stacked division — a drop to middleweight might be in order.

commentsYaaay ! He has heavy hands. So do a lot of dudes in MMA but those dudes tend to learn how to throw a punch and not just hope to get lucky.
Besides someone should tell Houston that you salute with your right hand and not your left. Dude looks almost as bad as John Cena and while you can't see John cena you also can't see Houston Alexanders UFC carreer going any further. =D
oh and, Internet tuf guys are like retards that don't know they're retarded.
for the record, I'm 0-1 in amateur mma. Jits kicks my ass. MMA Wannabe, we should have a match! hahahha.
If they cut him he will be signed by EXC within a week. They will have him on tv quicker than the Flash.
Plus, I did not think that the crows was that loud. Plus he should have heard the 10 second clacker.
I'm guessing you're also not fighter because real fighters, at least the one's with skill, are incredibly humble and don't talk shit unless it's to hype up a fight against a specific opponent. Otherwise the only idiots that talk trash like you do are the one's that get their asses kicked on the first episode of TUF.
But hey, prove me wrong. Post a link to some video of you rolling on the mats with your mad skill. See if you can back your words up instead of taking up space on an otherwise quality site.
Ooh! Truth hurts like a high kick to the head don't it...but of course you're bad ass self must know what that feels like.
I am MMA Wannabe, simply because I don't want to sound like I think I'm God's Gift to the sport. I'm not. I'm young and right now, I'm all athlete and little skill. Should I ever wind up sounding like you on even the internet I hope I die a long and slow death.
However, there is a fact that I will brag upon; I'm 2-4 amateur.
That's right. 2-4
The two wins were over smacktalking morons like you. My losses were to real men with professionalism, discipline and respect for fellow fighters. Not only are you not an MMA fighter, but you probably don't even know a single one. Go back to your mom's basement and pretend, while people who actually respect the sport go out and get better and better at it.
I used to enjoy the comments but clearly this troll wants to crap all over the goodness of this site. I hope Ben craps down your throat and laughs when you gag.
Hey Ben, don't drag my good name down being associated with that guy. TUF Guy has never even taken any Stevia, so how can he be as tough as he says.
BRUTAL....see you some time next year when you learn how to get out of the mount.
This is Dan Quinn, isn't it.
I would love to face you in the cage, you would try some weak ass judo throw and I would just stand there like "did this fight start already?" . I swear thats how it would happen.
Houston still has no ground game to speak of? Still? You'd think that his camp would be working on this, but I guess not nearly enough. Shouldn't he have learned from Cro Cop's time in the UFC? They both have brutal striking power but all CroCop and Alexander had for ground game was just takedown defense and then the strategy of "hold them and pray the ref stands us up" comes into play. *Sigh*
As for his fight with Jardine, that knee that Houston threw looked more like it hit the upper chest than the head, otherwise I doubt that final punch that Houston threw would have been needed.
