Ronda Rousey Gets Photoshopped, Tibau Gets Suspended Until 2017

It looks like someone wanted to make Ronda Rousey appear a little bit thinner than she actually is, and the former bantamweight champion is not happy about it…

Ex-UFC women’s bantaweight queen Ronda Rousey has always been an advocate for pride in a woman’s own appearance. In numerous interviews ‘Rowdy’ has spoke of her own body image issues, that haven’t been aided by bullies and insensitive comments, even as recently as her spot in the Carl’s Jr. commercials. In a world where body image has become a distorted yet still highly impressionable issue among the youth it’s somewhat disheartening to hear Rousey has been subject to some air brushing.

That said, it was apparently not under the orders of ‘Rowdy’ herself, and she is rather unhappy about the fact it took place. The photoshop subject was an image of Rousey’s recent appearance in the Conan show, as she explains the story via her Instagram account. Check it out:

In a world as shallow and body conscious as ours, it is refreshing to have someone like Ronda Rousey around. As much grief as she takes from fans and media, she seems like quite an honest and straight forward person.

The last we heard from the most experienced lightweight in UFC history, Gleison Tibau, was that he would be appealing his October 2015 failed drug test for EPO (erythropoietin) during in and out of competition tests by USADA (United States Anti Doping Agency). Well, the USADA squad have an update for us now, confirming that Tibau has retracted his appeal and will now stay out of action until next year. As per the official website:

Tibau, 32, tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO) following both out-of-competition and in-competition tests conducted on October 23, 2015 in Coconut Creek, Florida, and on November 7, 2015 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, respectively. EPO is a synthetic hormone used to stimulate the body’s production of red blood cells, thereby increasing oxygen transport and aerobic power, and is a prohibited substance in the class of Peptide Hormones, Growth Factors, Related Substances and Mimetics under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy.

Tibau’s period of ineligibility began on November 7, 2015, the date on which he last competed. In addition, Tibau has been disqualified from all competitive results obtained on and subsequent to October 23, 2015, the date on which his first positive sample was collected in violation of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy. As the regulatory body that sanctioned Mr. Tibau’s bout on November 7, 2015, the Comissao Atletica Brasileira de MMA (CABMMA) has recognized USADA’s sanction and, in accordance with the CABMMA Anti-Doping Policy, reversed the outcome of Mr. Tibau’s bout from a “win” to a “loss.”

So his original submission win against Abel Trujillo is now a disqualification loss. Ouch.
