(Jones vs. Danny Green, 12/2/09)
Roy Jones Jr. fought in Australia last night — or, technically, today — against 36-year-old Australian boxer Danny Green. It did not go well for Roy. Though Jones was a -350 favorite with oddsmakers, he got dropped early on in the first round and never really recovered. The old hand speed, the head that never stayed in one place long enough for opponents to even get a good look at it, all of that was gone as Green poured on the punishment for a first-round TKO victory. Said Green afterwards: "I almost felt bad doing that. It almost hurt me to do that to someone I look up to as a professional inside and outside the ring."
When they start talking about you like that, it’s time to hang them up. Looks like that Anderson Silva fight would be a mismatch now after all, only not in the way some previously thought.

listen im a hudge roy jones fan but it is what it is he lost period but what i find funny is ya wont hear the end of it but ya dont hear a fuckin eep about him going undfeated for 15 years or not geeting hit in a whole round or beating great fighters who does that???? and yea he is cocky but its more showmanship for the crowd and he deserves to be cocky cause hes underated and someones always talking shit and lets be real mma and boxing are 2 diff fucking things mma is 3 dimensinal fight on the ground on ya feet and clinching boxing is one dimesnonal and i like the spider tough ass fuck but its one dimesnsal how ya gonna beat a one dimensal fighter who was the greatest of all time and undefeated for years and practises one dimensal fightning? and fought one of the best in the world and wasnt even at his greatest and still droped him and lasted 12 rounds he is gonna win!!! now if he goes and tries to fight in 3 dimesnsions a guy who trained 3 dimesnsions his whole life how does roy expet to win after only fightning one dimesnsion ill tell ya what would happen theyd take roy down cause they certainly ain throwing hands wit him thats his game that would be stupid as roy trying to take them to the ground that is their game boxing is a game of chess its one dimensional thy are lossing their feet and ground work and just using they hands and no mma fighter now or before got that hand work so a mma fighter beating roy in a boxing match is just stup0id theyd be tired first of all roy throws at leat 500 unches a fight no mma fighter throws that many punches in one fight and gets hit 300 times in one night boxing is roys game and for all who thought he was done green got him yes but ya get caught it happens but check out the lacy fight and if he was so cocky he woulnt congratulate the other fighter and embrace the country and give thanks to God and say God is the reason he does this that is humble to me
