While I agree that there should be regulation on insurance agencies, the government should not be declaring what kind of policies they can and cannot have. The state of Washington for example has legislation that requires insurance providers to cover the costs of psychology/psychiatry on every policy. Higher premiums off the bat and the consumer has no choice.

Have we forgotten what the point of insurance is? To provide necessary funds in case of emergencies, not cover every cost associated with health. If everyone has the same insurance, is anyone really insured? That's why all policies (in my opinion) should be catastrophic policies and if you feel you need more than add it to your umbrella policy.

Who said healthcare was a right? If it was than that would mean that the hospitals and doctors don't have a right to say no. The gov. shouldn't be able to force any privately held company or individual to do anything non-discriminatory. People with money can buy better things, including better doctors. It's the nature of things.
