If BJ Penn Loses to Jon Fitch ‘The Prodigy’ Already Has an Excuse Ready to Go

Former UFC welterweight and lightweight champ BJ Penn suffered a bizarre injury recently.

Apparently "The Prodigy" was bitten by a spider on the back of the head while doing some promo in Australia and the sore became so infected that it caused some of his hair around the affected area to fall out. Hopefully for his sake, Jon Fitch doesn’t take him down and mop the canvas with his dome at UFC 127 like he usually does with opponents or else we may see BJ featured on popthatzit.com.

On a side note, what the hell is up with BJ’s coke nails? Does he practice the ukelele in his spare time?

Maybe this explains why GSP’s eyes looked like they’d gone through a cheese grater the first time they fought.

they definitely check finger nails when they are checking the gloves before a fighter enters the octagon, there's no chance he fights with nails like that.

Looks to me like the bite of the White Tail spider .
BJ will want to keep on top of that wound as they can cause a ulcerated tissue wasting syndrome .

It would be great it BJ got bit by the same kind of spider as Peter Parker did.
I bet GSP and Spidey are the only two that could keep Jon Fitch off them in a fight.

This is not such a hot match for BJ, Jon Fitch will most likely be too much for him.
Not saying the fight will be boring or overly exciting, I just think BJ will be yet another victim of working from the guard while not getting pointed for it by the judges. Fitch will do enough for the win and if Cecil is there it will be 30-27 for Fitch once guaranteed.
