Jacare/Lindland, King Mo, and Both Cyborgs Slated for ‘Strikeforce: Evolution’

(Nobody makes Jacare bleed his own blood.)

Details are beginning to emerge about Strikeforce’s next big card, which is slated to take place December 19th at their familiar haunts in San Jose’s HP Pavilion. Though a headlining bout is still in the works, the event — dubbed "Evolution" — will reportedly feature…

A middleweight bout between jiu-jitsu specialist Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza and old-schooler Matt Lindland. Souza is coming off his chaotic no-contest rematch against Jason Miller, while Lindland hasn’t competed since he was added to Vitor Belfort‘s highlight reel at Affliction: Day of Reckoning. The winner of Souza vs. Lindland seems like a logical choice to challenge the winner of Saturday’s Jake Shields vs. Jason Miller fight for Strikeforce’s brand-new middleweight title.

— The entertaining and undefeated Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal will appear against a to-be-determined opponent. Lawal most recently destroyed Mark Kerr in 25 seconds at M-1 Global: Breakthrough in August. Though he’s competed at both heavyweight and light-heavyweight, Mo will probably be built up for an eventual shot at Strikeforce’s 205-pound strap.

— 145-pound women’s champ Cristiane "Cris Cyborg" Santos as well as her husband Evangelista are both expected to compete at "Evolution". However, Cris Cyborg could be involved in a non-title affair. Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker recently labeled the Roxanne Modafferi vs. Marloes Coenen fight this Saturday a #1 contenders bout, and it’s unlikely that either woman would try to take on Cyborg with just a six-week layover. (At least we hope not.) As for Evangelista, he’ll be dropping to welterweight for the first time in his career, following back-to-back losses to Siyar Bahadurzada and Joey Villasenor.

Yeah, as much as I want Miller to win, I dunno if he can beat Shields. I hope he does, but even then Jacare will probably kick his ass.

Sorry Miller, I'm a Mayhem Monkey're a better personality than a fighter.

Jacare has kicked his ass twice. Don't understand what would make III any different?

Yeah Miller and Jacre III would be the best matchup hype wise.

Male Cyborg dropping from LHW to WW in 2 fights? Wow

He actually looked really good against Joey Villasenor. Split decision that could have easily gone either way. If he can handle the weight cut, he could be a player at WW. Especially with Diaz in limbo and Shields at MW.

Nice, so when Miller destroys Shields tomorrow we will get to see a Miller/Jacare III rematch.

I'm pretty stoked about that.

This sounds entertaining. I feel awful for the publicly male Cyborg, he sucks so bad and his wife could probably destroy him in a fight. i wouldn't mind seeing Jacare v Shields, that could be an entertaining ground display.

Nothing worse than seeing a bleeding vagina-head.
