Jake Shields and “Mayhem” Miller Starting to Turn Up the Heat For Strikeforce Title Fight

Remember when "Mayhem" Miller and Jake Shields vowed to hype the hell out of their Strikeforce title fight to make sure fans tuned in to CBS on November 7?  Yeah, well, that hasn’t really happened.  They exchanged some barbs over Miller’s stated goal to "beat the piss" out of Shields, but since the fight’s been signed the trash talk has really stayed at a simmer.  We can only assume that Shields’ recent Twitter post is an attempt to kick things up a notch.  It simply can’t be a legitimate possibility that Shields would replace Miller as "Bully Beatdown" host, because no MTV executive not currently trying to bring the company down from the inside would trade Miller’s lower-primate-on-crack persona for Shields’ stoic hard-ass routine.  Don’t get us wrong, Shields is great as a bully-beater, but the only thing that guy could host is a tapeworm.  Dude just doesn’t have the panache.

According to oddsmakers, however, he does have the better chance to bring home the belt.  Shields is currently going off at about a 3-1 favorite, with Miller at +220.  Whaddaya say, anyone in the Potato Nation have the grapefruits to take a chance on an underdog with a severe chemical imbalance

This was a battle, Mayhem is one of the most underrated fighters ever. He is great on bully beatdown.

Bet on Mayhem. I actually see him winning this one fairly easily.

Mayhem's been submitted only once in 30 fights & that was 7 years ago, he loves the pain & he's wiry, Jake Shield's will have a very difficult time submitting him. So it should make for some exciting stand up.
Isn't it nice to know the Mayhem Miller Monkeys will soon have something to go ape shit over?

i love miller i would bet my house if i had one, or my car if i had one, or my computer if it didn't sustain my soul.

I like Mayhem, I think his submission defense is good enough to avoid anything jake can throw at him, however i think Jakes control will be superior on the ground, if Jason keeps it standing, it will be a ko, tko, or decision win for him. However the TD defense he displayed against Jacare was not good and i believe shields has better takedowns so if i was jason i would get my TD defense up to par for this fight.

I believe Jason will be prepared for this fight and take the win.

The MTV show that comes to mind first is Beavis and Butthead. Can't you see Shields with braces and Miller running around askig for TP for his bunghole?

He is probably still pissed about the "Vagina-Head Brazilian" enough to destroy shields.

Miller has a hell of a jaw and some awesome jujitsu, I think he takes it.

This is the classic good and evil showdown of Mtv's jackass vs the hills...

I guess Mayhem already used all his best lines on Jacare.

Yeah I got Miller on this one. It's hard not to like the guy, especially after watching his brilliant entrances back in Dream. Plus he was able to withstand pretty much all of Jacare's submission attempts, although he lost to unanimous decision. But something tells me he's gonna take the belt here....

I'd bet on Miller at those odds. He's crafty, and willing to fight dirty from what I can tell. Obviously Shields will show up better trained and in better shape, but there's no reason Miller can't grind out a decision or sub the guy.

@Jugger want to make a friendly wager? I'll let you have sex with my mom if Shields wins, but I get to do your mom if Mayhem wins.

Mayhem hasn't beat a "name" fighter since he beat Lawler in 2006. He's lost to Trigg and Souza since then. It's really about time he put up, or shut up.

Shields, on the other hand, has been on a tear. Jason seems pretty distracted with his fame. I doubt seriously that he will win this one.

WAR MAYHEM!!! Shields always looks like a white guy douche from the suburbs. I think Mayhem can get the upset here.
