Jorge Rivera Issues Formal Apology (In Song) to Michael Bisping

We love Jorge Rivera, but given how much time the dude has invested leading up to UFC 127 making goofy videos that poke fun at opponent Michael Bisping, well, Rivera better damn well win this fight. In the latest installment it’s clear Rivera has saved the best (read: weirdest) for last. We don’t want to spoil it for you, but let’s just say it includes a song-and-dance number, a felt pilgrim hat and a coconut brassiere. Also, the video makes the claim that Bisping requested that Rivera chum Matt Phinney (who we guess plays “Brave Count Bisping” in earlier vids) be barred from the event’s official weigh-in in order to avoid more mockery. If that’s true, we gotta say: Pretty weak, Bisping, pretty weak.

Props to Jorge and Team. I laughed. Why? Because it's absurd and juvenile, much like bathroom humor which is always funny. This is 100x better than the typical regurgitated crap we hear from fighters leading up to the fight. Prefight videos are trite, cliche and boring as f@ck. This on the other hand is light hearted, different and funny in a stupid way. Besides, Bisping is a dick and Jorge is clearly getting under his skin which is obviously part of the game plan.

J-Dog, I really don't see the comparison. Jorge has been quite sheepish and with the exception of this last video and unlike Bisping, not very belligerent. Chael on the other hand exibits what can only be described as Tourettes like behavior.

It's like Jorge is just trying to compete with Chael Sonnen for the biggest and best shit-talker award. I really think he was taking notes while Chael was leading up to his fight w/ Anderson.

Let's hope he does better than Chael and he delivers a 100% ass whopping instead of a 98% ass whooping.

As much shit talk as I hear from British people about the fat Americans who havent contributed anything to the world besides fast food, I think its incredibly ironic that Micheal would go as far as to say Jorge and Co. are racist for cracking on him. Then try to drag the whole of England into the fight, calling all the British to arms over Jorges mockery, calling them an attack on their homeland and Culture.

Bisping is a shmuck there is not much disputing that fact.
Jorge is at the twilight of his career and it would seem is trying to bring this fight into the public conscious by trash talking and doing these grade eight videos.
I love Monty Python and South Park very much but haven't even snickered at any of this crap.
It's not funny,....not even a little.
Just shut up and fight.....

I can't stand Bisbing, but at this point I wont feel an ounce of pity for Rivera if he loses. Not because he's insulting Bisbing. No, in fact I encourage that, but the videos are getting worse and worse, and they're really not coming off as insults anymore. Let's hope he spent even half the time on training as he did on these videos or he's going to look like quite the jackass.
