Josh Koscheck vs. Anthony Johnson to Co-Headline UFC 106

In their scramble to shore up UFC 106‘s lineup after the loss of Brock Lesnar, the UFC has booked a welterweight scrap between Josh Koscheck and Anthony Johnson for the November 21st event. Koscheck first announced via Twitter that he would be co-headlining the card, and Sherdog later confirmed his opponent.

It’ll be just a four-week turnaround for Johnson, who picked up his third straight win on Saturday night with a devastating 41-second TKO of Yoshiyuki Yoshida. (Our advice: Start cutting weight now.) Koscheck is coming off a first-round TKO of Frank Trigg at UFC 103 last month, and scored his own thunderous KO of Yoshiyuki Yoshida last December. Maybe it’s not worthy of co-main status, but at least Koscheck vs. Johnson will probably end with a highlight-reel knockout. Your predictions?

Johnson will not make weight! And if he does he will feel like shit and get KO'd! Or he will come in over and KO Koschek. Either way the fight after he will be moving up a div.

Rumble Johnson - DOMINATION...If he makes weight, which I am sure after him describing how not making weight absolutely changed his life.

Going to be a great fight. That is all.

i say that Bobby "the brain" Heenan is going to distract the referee long enough for the Undertaker to rise out of the middle of the octagon and choke slam Johnson. Normally Lesnar would be there to prevent these sort of shenanigans but he apparently has the piggy flu (or hes afraid of carwin or something).

Then The Big Show is going to tear open the cage with his teeth, fight the Undertaker, then guest host Dana White will schedule a fatal-4-way match for later that same night! its gonna be AWESOME!!

I'm always up for seeing Kos knocked out. With his frame, he'll most likely have to go up in weight soon.

Hey dumb fuck Smitty, AJ missed weight at UFC 76 as well and somehow managed to get his ass submitted by Clementi. But I agree that Johnson is probably the future of the weight class and is entertaining, despite his weight issues.
Smitty- October 28, 2009 at 8:59 am
Hey dumb fucks, AJ only missed weight this last fight. It's never been a problem before. The dude had a knee injury so, quit making yourselves sound like idiots. This is a GREAT fight! I know Kos is a great fighter and athlete, but I think AJ is the future of this weight class.
two_black_eyes hit the nail on the head, I think AJ will continue to dominate this weight class until he gets a shot at GSP. I also think he has the tools to make that a great fight too, and possibly walk away the new champ.
WAR AJ!!!!!

Johnson wins via Koscheck's stupidity

The only positive I see out of this card is if Forrest loses, he'll run out crying, giving more prelim airtime. The undercard looks somewhat decent.

I'd like to see a double KO or some sort. Josh for having bad hair and Johnson for missing weight and refusing to move up to MW.

Kos lays on him for 3 rounds to win a boring decition....welll unless peoples is reffing then maybe johnson wins by control the octagon on his back we will see

And I thought Dana was being generous giving us one free Spike PPV in November! Wait... UFC is charging for this?

Johnson ko's kos with head kick in the 3rd
ijustcreatedanaccounttocrackwise- October 28, 2009 at 7:49 am
I'm not interested in seeing Johnson at 170 anymore. Why not just have him substitute for Lesnar?
I Know Nothing- October 28, 2009 at 7:46 am
Rumble via KTFO of Josh (pubic head) Koscheck.
Derekrva- October 28, 2009 at 7:14 am

You beat me to it.

Good fight, but probably still won't go out my way to catch this one with such a weak main event. I think AJ wins either by decision or TKO. Josh will eventually try to take it to the ground, but AJ has a wrestling background also.

Homoplata- October 28, 2009 at 6:54 am
AJ wins via more fast-twitch muscle fibers.
Left_Boob_Telligman- October 28, 2009 at 6:52 am
Johnson will win by steroids
ReDx- October 28, 2009 at 6:47 am
I think Kos will try to stand with him at first but realize he can't do crap then use his wrestling to try to get a lay N pray victory. With that being said I hope Johnson via KO rd 1
Goog- October 28, 2009 at 6:38 am
Koscheck will poke him in his bionic eye.

I hope.
Professor Choas- October 28, 2009 at 6:37 am
Koscheck wont get the takedown, then he is gonna catch a 5 piece to the face and go nighty-night in the 2nd round
newdeal- October 28, 2009 at 6:37 am
koscheck wins this on the ground
UFC fan- October 28, 2009 at 6:30 am
I predict some black on mulatto crime.
two_black_eyes- October 28, 2009 at 6:29 am
my prediction? - johnson will start getting a little respect after he devastates koscheck.

i wanna see this dude fight GSP. i think he has the size and skills to make it a great fight. of course he would have to make weight.
Catalyst8487- October 28, 2009 at 6:29 am
If Johnson comes out aggressive then Johnson with an early KO. Otherwise I think Kos will pull this one out.
